Rikki Tikki is a courageous character in this story. In the story, Karait the evil snake tries to hurt the Teddy the little boy, but Rikki is very fond of Teddy and fights of Krait.(32-34) This evidence shows, Rikki Tikki is being courageous and protecting the boy from the evil snake who could kill Teddy, but Rikki will not let that happen because he likes the boy and thinks of him as family. The character trait is similar to Rikki’s because he is very courageous and this

An example of personification used would be, “grass quivered again”(97) To state my evidence, the story without the animals talking would be boring and confusing. This proves the them because without there would be no excitement it would just be plain old boring. In the story, The author uses personification when the animals are talking and doing something else human like, “Give me the egg, Rikki-tikki. Give me the last of my eggs, and I will go away and never come back,” she said, lowering her hood.(93) This shows, that first of all Nagaina is talking and animals can not talk in real life and this is an example of personification. This personification expresses the theme because, Nagaina is fond of her eggs and will do anything to protect them. In conclusion the story would have no livelihood and we would all be bored instead of all the figurative
One theme from Rikki Tikki Tavi would be courage. Rikki has to fight two cobras, Nag and Nagaina, to protect his garden and Teddy. He is frightened of them because they are stronger and bigger than he is, but he overcomes his fear and fights them anyway. "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi" is a short story in The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling about the adventures of a valiant young mongoose. One theme from Rikki Tikki Tavi would be courage.
“Rikki-tikki-tavi” is a book about a mongoose written by Rudyard Kipling, a human. During this story Rikki-tikki-tavi uses his fast reflexes to eliminate the snakes and be considered a hero. He proves himself to be determined, brave, and protecting while killing snakes, obviously, because who doesn't prove themselves by killing snakes. At first Rikki proves his determination in extermination while he kills Nag in the bathroom. While he held onto Nags fragile neck “he closed his jaws tighter, for he made sure he [Nag] would be banged to death…”
Rikki Tikki Tavi “Loyalty and devotion lead to bravery. Bravery leads to the spirit of self-sacrifice. The spirit of self-sacrifice creates trust in power of love.” This a quote written by Morihei Ueshiba which represents the story Rikki-Tikki-Tavi by Rudyard Kipling, in which Rikki Tikki shows how much he cares about Darzee and Teddy and their families by fighting Nag, Nagaina, and Karait to protect them.
‘Oh, look here! our mongoose is killing a snake!’ This is important because it shows rikki tikki tavi being brave and saving teddy from Karait the theme i thought of was rikki tikki being be brave, i chose this because throughout the story all rikki tikki has done was help them and brave. The theme of the fictional story Rikki-tikki-tavi by Rudyard Kipling is to be brave and have courage to protect the ones you love. Evidence Rikki’s character traits (pg.21).
First, “If you move, I strike, and if you do not move, I strike. Oh, foolish people, who killed my Nag!” (para 84). As you can see, this is an example of personification because Nagaina spoke to the humans and she showed emotions towards Nag. This example of personification proves the theme because Nagaina’s love for Nag gave her courage to go to the veranda and try to kill the little boy alone.
Personification is used when the author describes Fwadausi’s fear as the smoke was engulfing and choking her. The author wrote, “Standing there next to the road, just outside her school cars rushing by enveloping her with dust, Fwadausi’s shoulders curled in as fear and anxiety engulfed and choked her like smoke” (Okorafor Paragraph 14) This description highly explains the intensity of the situation and Fwadausi’s fear and the feeling of suffocation that she was going through. The author also uses simile’s to describe Fwadausi’s legs as “long thin legs” (Okorafor Paragraph 15) to describe Fwadausi’s vulnerability. The author also writes “She turned and ran home, taking long strides with her long thin legs” (Okorafor Paragraph 15).
One example of personification is when comes to visit Grant after work: “A little farther over, where another patch of cane was standing, tall and blue-green, you could see the leaves swaying softly from a breeze.” (Gaines 86) The use of personification is effective because it allows the reader to visualise. In this instance, it creates an image of the leaves swaying in the wind.
In the historical fiction novel Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse, the central character Billie Jo faces many adversities that could have crushed her hopes, dreams and spirit. The author Karen Hesse, states, “the way I see it, hard times aren’t only about money, or drought, or dust. .Hard times are about losing spirit, and hope, and what happens when dreams dry up.” This quote means that the way the author sees it, the hard times in Billie Jo’s life aren’t always on the surface, as she faced losing her sense of self, her optimism, and her goals she wished to achieve. Billie Jo is confronted with the challenges of her strained relationship with her father, as well as guilt over her mother’s death, yet she is able to hold onto her spirit, hopes,
People aren't always undertaking missions, but people who do undertake a mission have self-believe and courage. I read Rikki-Tikki show heroism when taking down two cobras, plus Farah Ahmedi pushed herself with a disability when she climbed a mountain. But they weren't the only ones, Ernesto Galarza also showed courage when he was optimistic and saw learning as a fun thing. All these examples show that it takes self-believe and courage to undertake a mission. Rikki-Tikki Tavi by Rudyard Kipling is a fable where animals have anthropomorphic traits.
The first example of personification is from The Martian Chronicles,”She heard him crying out to the birds as they rose higher, like ten thousand hot sparkles, so many red-yellow fireworks in the heavens, tugging the canopy like a flower petal, burning through the wind” (Bradbury, The Martian Chronicles, 6). The personification is the birds are tugging at the canopy. Tugging at an object is a human quality, and birds do not tug at canopies. An example of personification from Fahrenheit 451 is, "The firehouse trembled as a great flight of jet planes whistled a single note across a black morning sky" (Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451, 30). Jet planes do not whistle.
Roger Chillingworth plays an important role to the plot of the novel The Scarlet Letter. He is more of a symbol rather than a main character throughout the entire novel. This is due to the fact that he represents how all Puritans should act, at least on the surface. While he is becoming part of a community, he is also planting revenge on Hester and her lover. At first his plot was to reveal Hester’s lover, but that plot turned him into something more vile and evil than before.
“The house shuddered, oak bone on bone, its bared skeleton cringing from the heat, its wire, its nerves revealed as if a surgeon had torn the skin off to let the red veins and capillaries quiver in the scalded air.” (Bradbury 291) Was a quote from the Story There Will Come Soft Rains. This is showing how the house is moving and is still working even without humans living in it. This example is all personification because it says how the house has bone and the skeleton cringe. Obviously Houses don't have bones, or a skeleton, and, veins.
“I heard the distant whistle of a passing train, and I wished I could get on it and go far away, to a place without struggle meetings, without class status, without confessions.” - Ji-Li Jiang. This quote is from The Red Scarf Girl, a memoir of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. This is a book about a 12 year old girl, Ji-Li Jiang, witnessing the Cultural Revolution. The quote is her wishing away all her current problems.
" 'Your father does not know how to teach. You can have a seat now. ' I mumbled that I was sorry and retired meditating upon my crime." This is a quote by Scout and her teacher Ms. Caroline Fisher on page 23 from the book How To Kill A Mockingbird well they 're in the classroom.
In the novel The Old Man and The Sea, written by Ernest Hemingway a credible author, the use of figurative language was not sparse. Figurative language enhances the story line and makes the book interesting and detailed. The most notable uses of figurative language were similes, metaphors, personification, idioms, and hyperboles. Similes are described as a comparison using like or as. We found many examples throughout the text.
