BACKGROUND-
There is no single definition of AI that is universally accepted by practitioners. Many define AI as a computerised system that shows behaviour that is commonly thought of as requiring intelligence. Others define AI as a system capable of rationally solving complex problems or taking appropriate actions to achieve its goals in real world circumstances it encounters. AI is mainly about helping machines find solutions to complex problems in a more human like fashion. This generally involves borrowing human intelligence and applying them as algorithms in a computer friendly way.

Experimentation and research must be carried out judiciously as there can be costly mistakes. The following sections show the risks of artificial intelligence.
Risk of Self driving cars
Artificial intelligence or a form of it has been implemented in cars nowadays. One example of this is Tesla's Autopilot which takes control of the car and has self-driving capabilities. Although it has been heavily tested and is now safe for humans it is still not risk free from viruses and hacking. There may be potential of a new virus that can manipulate the system and cause damage to the passengers. They can also be easily thwarted by incorrect GPS and bad weather. In fact, majority of the aircraft accidents that take place happen during the switch of control from autopilot mode to the pilot (1). In case of high speed accidents, the car may be programmed to safeguard the passengers which may cause more damage to the pedestrians and people would more likely buy a car that would safeguard them over the others. The self-driving cars would not interpret human traffic signals or roadblocks and may be a cause of accidents. The self-driving cars would cause large scale unemployment and eliminate many jobs in the transport sector such as public transport divers and taxi drivers. A chatbot is a program that communicates with text messages. News reports says researchers were teaching two chatbots how to negotiate with each other. The bots were originally left alone to develop their conversational skills. When the experimenters returned, they found that the AI software had begun to deviate from normal speech. Instead, they were using a brand-new language created without any input from their human supervisors. The new language was more efficient for communication between the bots, but was not helpful in achieving the task they had been set. The novella “Super-toys Last All Summer Long” is written by Brian Aldiss in 1969. Aldiss’ tale depicts the paradoxical loneliness of living in an overpopulated world.
Just imagine coming in the work one day and told that you were being replaced by a robot. People need work self driving cars don’t. A little under half the population of the world have drivers as a job just imagine all of them being lost that’s not good for the environment nor the pedestrians in the world there’s a lot of risks with self driving cars. But, according to the article (A Google Self-Driving car caused a crash for the first time), “California DMV filing first reported by writer Mark Harris, one of Google’s self-driving Lexus SUVs drove into the side of a bus at low speed.” Lastly, some may say that one could be more productive in a self driving vehicle because the computer is in charge of the wheel. However, computers are unreliable and malfunction all the time, and your car would be a computer. No one wants to experience a computer crash that could kill you.
Douglas employs notable examples to support his claims and rightfully proves why AI is not as risky as seen by the public. David Parnas’ “The Real Risks of Artificial Intelligence” focuses on the unseen negative aspects of Artificial Intelligence. He argues that AI programs can be untrustworthy and even in some cases, destructive due to the programming approach that programmers take. While Parnas is negative about the concept of Artificial Intelligence, Eldridge see Artificial Intelligence in a brighter light. Both authors present their arguments differently in terms of tone, level of diction, examples and organization.
In the Next 20 years the only vehicle that will be on the road will be self driving . As more people become aware of and use the new technology of self driving vehicle, one day that will be the only type of vehicle on the road. People will realize how much time it saved them and their families. The idea of of a Self Driving Vehicle started as early as 1950’s by Walt Disney, in his movie Magic Highway USA showed cars driving by themselves on the roads.

With such a large group of people that may not be able to drive on their own, self driving cars would give a safer option to older people being more independent. Defining intelligence is a very difficult proposition and one which Alan Turing attempted to avoid answering as regards machine intelligence in the Imitation Game which has become known as the Turing Test (Turing, 1950). He posed the question “Can machines think?” which is he developed to ask if machines are able to converse in a way that can persuade humans they too are human. A machine is declared to have passed the test if human judges are unable to tell the difference between a human and a computer through a typed conversation. He suggested that a machine that persuades 70 per cent of human judges after five minutes of conversation should be deemed to have passed the test.

I do not believe the field has been developed to its potential in any regard, and feel that considerable progress can be made to improve the interactive experience that users have with an artificial intelligence application.
