Numerous people have been in a wreck. Numerous people have came close to death due to a wreck. Sometimes we wonder how the person survived such a terrible accident. In the early year of 2005 my only brother was in one of those terrible accidents. He was only eighteen at the time and had recently graduated from high school. You can never predict what will happen throughout the day, but no one was expecting him not to come home from work that day for the next three months. I remember like it was yesterday that I woke up and was so excited to finally have a girls day with my mom. She was going to take off work early and come get me from my dad's. I knew something was wrong when it had passed the time for her to come get me. I kept asking my dad when she was coming, but he would never answer me. Later that night my mom finally arrived. When he arrived at the hospital, he went into emergency surgery. The doctors worked hard to save his arm and to fix his leg. The surgery took at least three hours to complete. They had to put two metal rods throughout his arm and two metal rods going down his leg. They could not sew his wounds up on his arm due to how inflamed his tissues and muscles were. They put a big white air bag type machine over his open wound on his arm to keep out infection. Were the bone had broken through his skin they had to take a skin graph from his upper leg to cover it. He had also lost so much blood that the doctors said he was very lucky to have even been alive when he was finally removed from the
“[Ewell] had lost a leg at Manassas and had just recently returned to the army, and he was standing awkwardly balancing himself against the unfamiliar leg… swaying nervously, clutching a fencepost,” (Shaara, 224). He is missing part of his leg, and explains that a minie ball hit his leg “just below the jointed knee” (Shaara, 225); back in the day minie balls were used and could shatter bone, so doctors would render the wound untreatable and amputate the limb it hit. Amputations were very common and done with anesthesia, which was recently made at the time; sometimes they didn’t use it when amputations occurred. When James Longstreet, a lieutenant general, is riding off back to the camp after the first day of the battle, he sees a wagon with many limbs in it. “[Longstreet] passed by a hospital wagon, saw mounded limbs glowing whitely in the dark, a pile of legs, another of arms.

A jackknife truck accident occurs when a tractor-trailer brakes too hard on a slippery road. This can happen in one of two ways. When the trailer wheels lock up, the trailer wants to continue sliding down the road past the tractor. This causes the back of the trailer to fishtail about the trailer hitch. Meanwhile, the tractor is braking without skidding.

The experience I will be discussing in this essay is getting into a car crash. I learned so much from this unfortunate experience, and it has affected my life for the better. It was a rainy day in St. Louis about nine years ago. My babysitter, Denise, was driving my older sister and I to a children’s museum. We got on the highway and were on our way.

Rear End truck Accidents Read end truck accidents are well known to cause serious injuries, and sometimes death. They are called so because they involve the collision between a vehicle and the back end of the truck, and vice-versa. Whichever is the case though, the impact is always followed by rails of damaged property, and excruciating pain - in total loss of life or life-altering injuries. That is why it is very important that all damages and loss be paid for by the accident-causing parties.
