They say love is pure, sweet, and something that you can never forget. You feel as if your whole world was turned upside down, and you seem to do things so foolish because of it. It is the greatest feeling the universe gives you. Although they refuse to tell you of the longing, terror, or the pain of it. It is nothing other than a burden, a nightmare which I wish to awaken from. All I long to do is forget. Forget him, his sweet melodic voice , his strong embrace he holds me within, even his beautiful green eyes that seem to stare through me. Only the remembrance of him kills me, makes me ill. My heart can not bare this pain of losing him, of him disappearing like the fine morning mist. I shall never hear his sweet voice, look into his eyes, or be held in his embrace. As long as I remember, I will never be able to go on without my darling Caleb...

The trees rustled with excitement for the summer, and the water was cool and inviting to those who stared at its sparkling beauty. Breathtaking, much like the curious man who was chopping the trees. I crossed paths with him on my morning walk through the woods. He must have been from the town over, Roanoke, or have a house not to far from the trail. If he is from Roanoke, they have been settled there for some time. I wonder if he is unfamiliar to the area. That would explain his odd behavior, and the fact he was on my family’s land. He is a puzzle to the mind, but at the same time I could read him like an open book. Or could he read me like a book with those eyes? Pale green, like the trees. They peer through me, through my
Although it can be confusing to a lot of people, in its truest form, love is ultimately
“How I Contemplated....” how I contemplated, I miss him so much, He’s the only one to show me love. He’s is my first love, my first everything. I wish i could tell someone, but who really cares to listen. I hate
”(Columbus, 16) He goes on to talk specifically about the beauty of the trees, and meadows. He says, “There are pines too, of an admirable beauty, fields and meows, of the utmost extent, birds of many
“Forgetfulness” by Billy Collins is a free verse poem that has no set rhyme scheme or line length. Collins uses some of his usual themes of memories that show up in poems including “The Golden Years” and “The First Night.” However, Collins does not use a first-person point of view in “Forgetfulness,” rather, he is a narrator in the third person. Throughout the writing, the title is shown by the use of phrases that show forgetfulness. “...first to go” (Collins 1), “...slipping away” (Collins 12), “...floated away” (Collins 17), “...drifted” (Collins 23), and more are used to relate to the focal theme.
The mood of this poem is sad and fear. One can tell that this poem is written to express wishes of one when they are gone. Christina says, “Only remember me, you understand.” She is in fear that he/she will forget her and the memories so she writes this poem to ensure that this does not happen.
When I read this poems, it actually does not bring up a lot of memories.. But the fact that two crosses layed next to each other, with their owners laying underneath, hand in hand, made me think of lovers dieing together, and lying in rest together, in a graveyard. It brings sadness as well as happiness when I see husband and wife lying together in death. My grandparents tributes on my father's side were set together. When my grandpa dies, my family planted a tree for him in a park, and put a bench next to it for his memory.
She says “you’ve no right to inflict the sight of your fear on me” (9). Actually, the characters do become each other’s mirrors, and they are each other’s torturers. When Estelle arrives, she complains about the garish colors on the sofas in the room, which bother her. The details add up to layers of irritation that will drive the characters mad over time. Garcin is horrified by the prospect of being constantly observed by Inez and Estelle.
This is not an accurate representation of what love really
Love is a complicated thing. A wise man once said, ”There is great pain in love, for we all have our flaws, but it’s all worth it in the end; it’s worth the sacrifice.” We all have our little imperfections, and we have all suffered because of them, but at one point in your life, someone will see those flaws and find them beautiful. That’s what love is. This theme can be seen in the play Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand and in the poem, O’ If I were loved as I desire to be by Alfred lord Tennyson.
Wilbur uses an AABB rhyme scheme in his poem to express his opinion that lying to children can help them face their fears. Wilbur is defending his opinion through the scenario of a "wakened child" being terrified of an owl she heard while in her "darkened room". In the poem, an adult soothes the girl by telling her the owl was asking "an odd question".
No mishap had befallen him or his cargo. The journey has been very prosperous, therefore, Tree-ear’s trepidation has mounted. Once he was on the mountain path, he began to feel more and more at ease. Although the mountains were unfamiliar, the maple, oak, and wild plum trees reminded him of home.
The term “remember” runs, like a refrain throughout the sonnet. However, its power seems to decrease through the poem, rather as if the voice and memory of the speaker is fading from life. The word “remember” is repeated six times within the poem, which expresses the desire of a speaker whose hope is that her lover, will keep her memory alive beyond death. The repeated use of “remember” and “remember me” indicate the strength of the speaker’s desire to not be forgotten, although this forceful plea is relaxed at the end of the poem when the speaker acknowledges that the happiness of her beloved is ultimately the most important thing. This is the general message of the poem, the happiness of others are ultimately more important than keeping the memory of a loved one alive as it will inevitably pain you too much to do.
“I Cannot Forget” is considered to be a free verse in which the writer wants to be freed from all restrictions and express his thoughts unconsciously. It consists of thirty lines, divided into five stanzas, six lines each with
