Andrew was an orphan who overcame humble beginnings in the rural areas of the Carolinas only to later become a hard working, self made businessman. Jackson’s military exploits made him very popular and a rising political star. In 1822 the Tennessee Legislature nominated him for the presidency of the United States. To boost his credentials, Jackson ran for and won election to the U.S. Senate the following year Jacksons's two main opponents were John Quincy Adams and William H. Crawford. Both candidates had been looking to become the President since 1816.
Grant was a very prominent figure of the time period and led the Union to victory and helped heal the fractured United States afterward. General Grant began his military career at West Point when he was just sixteen. He was top of his class and when he graduated, he began his four years of service and went into combat in the Mexican-American War. He was promoted to captain as a result of his bravery during the war. After this, his four-year commitment to the army was up, he left and did not expect to come back.

John went to the United States Military Academy at West point. John had a few struggles with the rules of the lifestyle at West Point.
Ethan Allen was an American Revolutionary fighter who helped found Vermont. He lived from January 21, 1738 and died on February 12, 1789. He was born in Litchfield, CT, and died in Burlington, VT. Ethan Allen had a big family that, grew up in Vermont. Ethan died of a stroke at age 52, on his Winooski River homestead. Also when he died, he died with the title of the patriotic leader of the Green Mnt.
At age 17, Robert Anderson entered the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he gained a reputation as having a quiet sense of duty. Graduating 15th in a class of 37 in 1825, he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. 3rd Artillery. Shortly afterward, he took leave from the military to serve as private secretary to his half brother, Richard Clough Anderson, Jr.
Thomas Jefferson’s mother, Jane Ranolph Jefferson was from a family that claimed to be descendents of English and Scottish royalty. At the age of thirteen, my parents moved us to New Jersey. This was to steer us away from all the negativity and bad habits that my cousins where involved in. At seventeen, with my parent’s permission, I enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. I served fourteen years of active duty service from 2001-2015. During this time, I completed three combat deployments, two to Iraq and one to Afghanistan.
In 1775, he was named commander in chief of the Continental Army in the American uprising. In his first battle, he was able to box the British out of Boston, but later that year he was almost captured when he lost New York City. During every battle he rode in the front never in the back because he wanted to show his troops that they were all in this together. Geography played an important part in the American Revolution. Americans also known as Patriots knew the land very well.
With his parents’ backgrounds, MacArthur had the military mindset in his blood. His father was a captain and had been a decorated man in service in the Union Army during the Civil War. In addition, his mother originated from Virginia and her brother had fought for the south during the Civil War. Both parents had a voice whether it was fighting the war to standing up in what they believe in. As MacArthur grew up, he attended the West Texas Military Academy, where he showed academic and athletic promise.
The person I interviewed was my grandpa Ernest Mendoza who is seventy five years old walked into the interview trying to remember his post secondary education that was quite a while ago. His post secondary education was being a part of the US military. The branch he was in, was the Army. The way he came to joining the army, was when he was drafted. He was drafted the day before Christmas, when he was twenty four years old.
