Conflicts are as natural to human beings as eating and sleeping, there is an old proverb that whenever two human beings live together clashes are bound to happen. English naturalist Charles Darwin’s theory of ‘survival of fittest’ perhaps traces the inherent tendency of organisms to fight with each other for their survival and preservation of their races. Human beings formed bands, tribes and eventually societies and political systems for conflict resolution and maintenance of order. Impact of local self governments on people
Local self governments as in PRIs has direct outreach in its sphere of action i.e villages, Since Gram
Pradhan is democratically elected, he knows the entire village, its sociology and maintains direct interpersonal relationships, and has a direct influence on villagers in terms of belongingness.
They act as a keystone in the rural development and enhances the interaction between government and its citizenry.
Through these institutions there is direct decentralization of powers from center which has somehow increased the faith of common man in the state.
Panchayats acts as a conduit between the common people and government and ensures the qualitative participation in democracy.
There are few other informal committees also which act as self proclaimed local governments, these are Khap Panchayats, Kangaroo courts etc.
These congregations have prevented the social cohesion in terms of a unified national identity and promoted the loyalties in the line of religion, caste etc. In some parts of the country like in Haryana,
