Abstract
Political socialization happens in each general public, however is done in various ways; it is the way that a comrade gives data to its kin. Political socialization is the procedure by which individuals are educated, presented or adapted to what the standards and estimations of their general public are and what it takes to be a gainful individual from it (Bradshaw, 2009). Declining political association of teenagers in western culture has brought on broad concerns about the soundness of democracy (Judith Moeller and Claes de Vreese, 2013:309). This study examines the role of political socialization agents in the arrangement of political states of mind and political mobilization of South Africans.

Research also displays positive connections between the media usage and political participation (Steve Schwarzer: 2011).The media plays a very important role in the political socialization of members in a society. The reason for this is that we are part of a developed society, we are exposed to the messages of the media on a daily basis whether it is from radio, the newspaper, or television. Television is the most influential of the three simply because it is the easiest avenue to transmit political ideas to people. It is easy to transmit ideas on a large scale due to the number of people that owns a television Secondly, it caters to everyone regardless of gender, age or race. It has a large influence on people’s socialization as they start to watch it from an early age. It is not rare for a parent to ask their child “Where did you learn from?” and the response is very commonly “From T.V.”. The opinions of teenagers and adults are both influenced by TV, especially by the news where many issues are portrayed with a biased view (Bradshaw, 2009). According to Steve Schwarzer (2011) the media is crucial in providing information on politics, which has the ability to stimulate or abort political participation. The objective background of a student is influenced by the media. Media is indirectly related to political participation. There is a link between parental discussions and the use of media. There are various ways that media serve as an agent of socialization such as; informing us about events, introducing us to different participants in the political arena, providing an array of opinions on current issues and they make the society aware of the service
