With digitization of media having its influence of west, since it is stemmed from the west, its repercussions on Indian grounds are felt in varied ways. Firstly, to understand that the penetration of digital media in India, we can say it isn’t ready for it since its other media outlets such as print media itself is flawed beyond repair, that if digital media takes over an unready plain, the impacts would be negative than any positive and this is true when talking in terms of Punjab and more confined to women.

The music lyrics by and large talk about how sultry a woman is, or how women could easily be put a price tag on, or how an ideal woman would be like. Foremost the western influence of “RAP” ie Rhythm and Poetry has taken over as a tide. Another depiction of women here is of its idealism again a hegemonic influence, women by and large modern, in real Punjab is known for its tradition, when these two the ideal culture and the traditional culture breeds a new variety, the impact generated is that of an image of women who wears modern clothes but goes nothing beyond it. Beauty without brains is appreciated; clearly the educational and western mindset of women’s role in development is ignored. The video itself gives a witness to this. Woman’s persona is commodified, in similar lines to advertisements. Not to forget the “Fair & Lovely” rather fair is lovely, how racist ideology

Introduction In this paper I am going to analyze how the media affects the gender stereotypes that the documentary Miss Representation addressed. I believe that, the media perpetuates harmful stereotypes to both men and women. In this paper I will argue that Audre Lorde would agree with my thesis but she would also believe that the minority needs to be looked at more as well. In this paper I will argue that Rebecca Walker would agree with my thesis.
Media has gravitated toward the center of our culture over the years. Mr. Neil Postman writes in his book, Amusing Ourselves to Death, about his observation of the various forms of media throughout this nation’s history. The United States of America has transformed into this sexist and dangerous world in which the media and society portrays real women as objects and not as human beings. People see this on TV through commercials, TV shows, movies, and even games where the bodies of women are promoted like toys for the sexual pleasure of men. Nowadays, people would not do something the traditional way, most especially, if there is a shortcut, less energy-requiring. The ever-busy world, which continuously develops, created people who lack patience, who are always up for instants—instants such as instant updates. They are always eager to know what has just happened or what is currently happening.
“Media has become as necessary as food and clothing. Media is a mirror of the modern society; in fact, it is the media which forms our lives. The principle of the media is to let people know about modern, new relationships and to tell about the most modern discussion and fashion.
