The people who financially support me sit in the seats on the second or third floor.
The peasants get to be up front in the pit where they can see everything.
The actors are on the stage.
There are two levels for the acting areas but the first floor is practically used all the time.
Nothing too dramatic just a nice patio or open space.
No I do not need any additional levels.
No i do not need any special effects.
Once again no special effects needed.
No, there are no curtains. With the lack of curtains the audience will most likely see the setting get changed.
There is all kind of lighting but mostly artificial lighting. With the artificial lighting a person can control it so that the lights are equally spread out or all/some on one person.
In this scene there is no additional scenery. If there was additional scenery it could be used as improv or something and it will come and go from backstage.
The actors natural improv will determine where they want to start and end the show. Some of the actors movements are dictated by their lines and once again implied movements would just be the actors efforts of natural
Some people fight for honor, and some fight for revenge, or to avenge their friends or loved ones. Some fight with words and wisdom, while others choses to use physical force, even by taking the opponent’s life to fulfill their vengeance. One of the First lives lost in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, triggers the protagonists, Romeo, to avenge his friend, Mercutio. Romeo avenges his friend’s life, with the his own life and the trust from his wife, Juliet, at stake. When Romeo is mocked by the antagonist, Tybalt, a Capulet, Romeo decides to withdraw from the fight, then, his friend Mercutio decides to fight for him to protect his honor on Act three scene three.
The beginning of the performance, where the scene is completely darkened with a bit of light behind the curtain and several girls dancing at the background where loud laughing is heard intrigued the audience. It is impossible to understand what is happening on the stage, and the observers are waiting to see the rest of the performance in order to find out what is actually going on. The beginning of the theater play was both intense and exciting. The use of light has strongly contributed to this, as far as the total darkness could be considered to have symbolic meaning besides being used to direct audience 's attention. The spotlight is often directed at the central point of the play, the most important actor speaking or acting on the scene.
This comes together because Shakespeare is showing that Mercutio is a happy, joker, and Romeo is like a sad panda of some
Although there was not much scenery in this play as it is performed entirely on the front porch or backyard of the Chicago home, the scene crew did an amazing job as well. The house looked very realistic from the shingles on the roof to the windows on the house to the stone pathway in the yard. One of the biggest things that stood out to me in this department was when the scene changed and things were added to the stage. A part that comes to mind is the party scene. It was incredible how fast and precise the crew was in placing the red solo cups around the stage to give it a party atmosphere.
Mercutio is different from Romeo because he does not believe in love and makes fun of Romeo and falling in love so heavily all the time. When Romeo describes his love for Rosaline using a rose with thorns as a metaphor. Mercutio laughs and says ”If love be rough with you, be rough with love; Prick love for pricking and you beat love down”(I.4.27-28). In another scenario of Romeo and Mercutio’s foils is when Romeo tells his friends about a dream he had about the party and is expecting a disastrous outcome of the party. Mercutio makes fun of Romeo because he does not believe that dreams can become visions of impending danger.
Space is used in theatre in order to clearly imply to the audience where the action is taking place. The minimal props on stage allow the audience to interpret the performance in their own way and gives the play a sense of originality. An example of space is identified when actors are switching between scenes in Gallipoli and scenes in Australia. To represent times at war a long black box positioned down stage is utilised by actors to jump over and sit in front of to resemble a trench; giving the notion that the scene is set in war. On the other hand, the actors perform up stage behind this box when presenting scenes in Australia to create a clear distinction between the two settings.
Mercutio is making light of Romeo’s deep depressing love for Rosaline, he’s mocking love and making it a joke. This creates an emphasis on Romeo’s utter affixation with love. Mercutio’s playfulness and ability to make a serious subject humorous and reasonable bring out the deep, dark, and depressing side of Romeo, who is completely the opposite when it comes to love. Romeo does not see love as a joke and we see him fall into a depression, Mercutio only makes this sadness more apparent as he talks so jokingly of love. Shakespeare uses Mercutio to lighten Romeo’s depression and make it more
The stage design gives the impression of the characters being in two separate rooms, the positioning of blocks and pillars helps again to demonstrate this. This intricate attention to detail enables the performance to be compared so similarly to the movie adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic, although the ‘big screen’ enables more room for a fast change in setting and shots, Rourke does a phenomenal job trying to create this illusion which works so brilliantly. The night before the wedding or you could refer to it as the ‘stag and hen do’ was an unexpected twist that the audience definitely did not see coming. Again, the revolving stage was used to represent the divide between the women and the men and to compensate for the lack of space that the stage could carry.
Throughout the whole play both Romeo and Mercutio were there for each other when in need of a friend or even just some comforting words. Mercutio always seems to say the right things to put Romeo back on track and in focus. While Romeo was relentlessly weeping over his unrequited love for Rosaline, Mercutio, with his wise and caring words said, “‘Why is not this not better than groaning for love? Now art thou sociable.

Lenny Abrahamson’s drama film Room follows Joy and her five-year-old son Jack and their experiences of living in a tiny room with only so much space. Throughout the film, both aspects of low-key lighting and high-key lighting are filmed in various scenes. These lighting styles indicate both the rough and unstable atmosphere of living in just one small room as well as the freedom of escaping the small room and starting a new chapter in their lives. In addition, both lighting styles also play an important role in the film’s plot and set the mood for the plot by either adding suspense or relief. Room narrates the story of Joy and her son Jack’s lives as they are trapped in a very small shelter that they refer to as Room.
