Romeo meets Juliet and promptly falls in love with her. They later get married after knowing each other for a short time. Neither of them considers the struggles their love could bring. Friar Lawrence’s quote expresses that those who rush expose themselves to complications, which is confirmed by the events Romeo and Juliet encounter. Prior to Friar Lawrence’s prophetic insight, Romeo immediately falls in love with Juliet, which leads to their doomed fate by laying the foundation of their struggles.
William Shakespeare’s, Romeo and Juliet, provides great foils for the main character, Romeo. Shakespeare includes many foils throughout his stories to make his character’s emotions, attitude, and characteristics more apparent. Romeo’s character traits, lovestruck, cowardness, and emotional are highlighted through his foils, best friend Mercutio, and enemy, Tybalt. Romeo’s foils help to make his character’s personality stronger and clear. One character trait that’s highlighted through Tybalt is Romeo’s complete awe and love for Juliet.
William Shakespeare used love and humor to connect to his readers while writing his classic tragedies and comedies. Two of his classic plays Romeo and Juliet, and Much Ado About Nothing, are very alike, yet very different. The characters Mercutio, from Romeo and Juliet, and Benedick, from Much Ado About Nothing, have many similarities and many differences. Shakespeare is known as one of the best tragedy writers along with one of the best comedy writers ever. One of his best known tragedies is Romeo and Juliet; likewise, one of his best known comedies is Much Ado About Nothing.
Two notable love stories, known by many, can be shown through The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, by WIlliam Shakespeare, and The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. When it comes to the love for a woman, Gatsby devotes his entire life to gain the love from the woman of his dreams; likewise, Romeo is willing to do whatever it takes, even die, to be with the love of his life. Unlike Gatsby, Romeo is a poor man who must prove his love to Juliet through compassion and good deeds. Gatsby, on the other hand, not only proves his love through compassion but also throws extravagant parties to win Daisy over with his wealth. Though the two characters carried an unconditional love for another woman, both were forbidden from being with their companion.
He did not care he loved her. He loved everything about her. William Shakespeare wrote about love and many other parts. Romeo and Juliet was the romantic comedy that has inspired many. He focused many of his great works around love, very similar to Catullus.
Love, is an intense feeling of deep affection for someone. Lust, is a passionate or overmastering desire or craving. Many think that these two words mean the same thing because they both include deep feeling. For Romeo and Juliet, however, these two simple words were completely different. These two “star crossed lovers”, as the book called them, were not in love but in lust.
Love or Lust? Love remains a beautiful concept. (Simple Sentence.) However, lust can lead to tragic events. The play, Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare consists of two teenage, star-crossed lovers, who fell in love and put their emotions over everything.
The difference between the two emotions are drastic, but Shakespeare explores the idea that they are similar. Romeo is a Montague, and Juliet a Capulet; neither are born with hate, but both learn it. The couple learn to love, but the deception and misunderstandings lead to catastrophic endings. The relationship that they manifest displays the way they are taught to love, and how hatred interrupts these relationships. In Romeo and Juliet, hatred ironically reinforces the central theme of love.
On the other hand, lust is a strong feeling of a sexual desire for someone. Love is when you want to be with somebody because of their unique personality. Lust is when you want to be with them just because of their “good” looks. In the beginning of the play, Romeo and Juliet are in lust, because everytime Romeo described Juliet,
“It seems to me, that love could be labeled poison and we’d drink it anyway”, says Atticus. This quote means that love can be dangerous, but we, as humans, are willing to take the risk in order to find happiness. This quote relates to Romeo and Juliet because Romeo and Juliet knew that there would be so many risks falling in love with each other, but they were willing to take those risks because they love each other. In the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet are star-crossed lovers whose love for each other shows, in the way, they are willing to die for each other, the way they forgive each other, and the way they are willing to leave their families for each other. In Shakespeare 's Romantic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, show they are in love in many ways, such as the fact that they are willing to die for each other.
