These two teens from feuding families the Montagues and the Capulets fall deeply in love, but eventually, this love will turn into tragedy when the lovers commit suicide. Although this love was doomed from the start, Romeo's fatal flaws which include obsession, impulsiveness, and blindness from his love lead to conflicts that expedite their tragic demise. Romeo’s impulsiveness to marry Juliet less than a day after meeting started his downfall. On the balcony, while Romeo is talking to Juliet about their love he starts to speak about marriage as shown when Romeo says “Th' exchange of thy love's faithful vow for mine. While Benvolio and Mercutio are talking, Tybalt approaches searching for Romeo; he then proceeds to slander Romeo's name. Mercutio, in defense of Romeo’s honor, begins to fight Tybalt. Before the two begin fighting Romeo says “I do protest I never injured thee, But love thee better than thou canst devise, Till thou shalt know the reason of my love. And so, good Capulet-which name I tender as dearly as my own-be satisfied. (64-68) ” Romeo is so blinded by love and fixated on the fact that Tybalt is related to Juliet that he entirely neglects Mercutio who is a very close friend to him . This will prove to be detrimental as shortly after Tybalt kills Mercutio the guilt Romeo feels brings him to impulsively kill Tybalt. Romeo then gets exiled from Verona. Romeo's blindness from love prevented him from thinking, leading to his exile from Verona and the later downfall of the
Romeo realizes that Tybalt is angry and wants to fight, but because he is so elated because of his marriage, he simply tells him that there is no reason to fight and they should be kind to one another. Romeo expresses, “But love thee better than thou canst devise / Till thou shalt know the reason of my love. / And so, good Capulet- which name I tender / As dearly as my own- be satisfied” (III.i.40-43). Romeo made it clear that he did not wish to fight Tybalt, but in an effort to keep Romeo's honor, Mercutio stands up for him and fights Tybalt on Romeo's behalf.
In the first place, Tybalt never liked Romeo because he was a Montague. The family rivalry had already caused problems between Romeo and Tybalt. Tybalt says to Romeo, “Romeo, such is my regard for you that I can say no more than this: you are a villain” (Shakespeare 3.1. 135). Tybalt ultimately says this to Romeo to start a fight with him. At that moment, Romeo did not want to fight, which caused Mercutio to get involved.
Fatal Flaws Write a Fate to Failure Nobody is perfect. Everybody has their own special flaw whether it be mental, physical, emotional, or part of their personality. However some character flaws can definitely cause more harm than others.

In the play Romeo and Juliet, they are secretly married to two different families that have a problem with each other. This ends up with Romeo and Juliet both committing suicide. A long feud between the Capulet and Montague families causes tragic outcomes for the protagonists, Romeo and Juliet.
Tybalt wanted to fight Romeo, but Mercutio and Tybalt fought, which led to Mercutio’s death and Romeo went for revenge and killed Tybalt. Therefore, just because Tybalt hated the Montagues so bad, so he fought one of them and lost his life. Mercutio’s tragic flaw is being too protective of Romeo. Mercutio tells Tybalt, “o calm dishonorable, vile submission!-/Alla stoccata carries it away. (draws his sword)/Tybalt, you ratcatcher, will you walk?”
He lets his feelings guide him instead of considering the consequences it may lead him. The play states ’We met, we wooed and made exchange of vow,’(2.3.63-65) This shows that Romeo wants to marry
Tybalt is trying to get Romeo to fight him to restore his family's pride. In an act of good faith Romeo refuses to fight him even when Tybalt is insulting him. Mercutio feels sorryl for his friend and attacks Tybalt. This results in Tybalt killing Mercutio and fleeing the scene. Secondly, Tybalt purposely goes back to further insult Romeo after he kills his best friend: “Thou wretched boy, that didst consort him here,Shalt with him hence”.
Good Mercutio! ROMEO tries to break up the fight/ Tybalt stabs MERCUTIO under Romeo’s arm.”(3.1 81-85) This quote demonstrates that Romeo acts without thinking beforehand as if it weren’t for him trying to get in the way of the duel between Tybalt and Mercutio, Mercutio would have stood a better chance against Tybalt. If Mercutio would have won the duel Romeo would not have killed Tybalt in revenge and thus would not be banished from Verona causing him to be taken away from Juliet.

Before Mercutio’s death in act three Tybalt remarks “Romeo, the love I bear thee can afford No better term than this: thou art a villain.” (Shakespeare.3.1.61-62). As exemplified by this citation Tybalt clearly states his disdain for Romeo and this addition creates an underlying tone of disdain for their relationship as a whole. This has the opposite effect as intended on the two as their relationship grows stronger because of this adversity and this ultimately leads to their deaths to do irrational decisions made in the haste of love. Ultimately the decision that Tybalt makes that directly leads to the death of the lover is as Tybalt asserts “Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries That thou hast done
In William Shakespeare 's Romeo and Juliet, both protagonist act impetuous, which alters their lives. They act without thinking and forget that there are consequences to their actions. Both Romeo and Juliet hide the fact that they were in love and married from their families. If Romeo and Juliet really love each other they would take their time to get to know each other. They also would talk things through, but they both have their flaws.

Out of these many different flaws displayed, one flaw specifically stood out more than the others. Shakespeare focused most on the human nature of making impulsive decisions and living in the moment without enough thought of future consequences, he painted this idea throughout multiple acts and included them in various different characters. Not only is this idea visible in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet but additionally, the short story of “Pyramus and Thisbe.” It still continues to be a relevant and commonly used flaw in writing today.
