Williamson filed many appeals but all were denied. On September 22, 1994, just five days before he was scheduled to be executed, his public defender filed a habeas corpus petition. It was filed against his trial lawyer because the lawyer failed to acknowledge Williamson’s lace of mental competency to stand trial. Williamson was granted a stay of execution and moved to a special care unit for psychiatric treatment while the court considered the petition. They had to exhume the body because of an incorrect analysis of fingerprints at the scene. While Williamson was in jail for another charge of writing bad checks, an inmate said that he confessed the murder to him. Williamson told police that he had a dream stabbing and strangling the victim. His statement was treated as a confession. While in jail, one of the inmates that was in with Fritz said he had confessed to the murder. A person named Glenn Gore said that Williamson was seen at the restaurant the night of the

The defendant was found to be depressed but not clinically depressed.

Nils Christie’s view on modern law is that due to specialization, victims have lost the right to participate in their trials. Lawyers are becoming too involved in cases, taking conflicts away from parties and turning them into property. Christie states there there is less attention focused on the effects on the victim and more focus on the criminal’s background. Christie also states that getting a court to function is difficult while there are specialists present. According to Christie, parties become uneasy with handling their own social conflicts where they know there are professionals present who they believe can do a better job.
Dear Members of the Jury, I am writing you this letter to tell to you that Tom Robinson should be proven not guilty. This case would have never happened if the truth would have been told and it wasn’t a case between black and white. There are many ways that Robinson is not guilty. One of these reasons that Tom Robinson is not guilty is that if you listened to the Sheriff 's testimony he stumbled frequently and when he said something and then Atticus would say something different he would agree with Atticus. Tom Robinson is a very polite man with great manners, which you could take into consideration that he wouldn’t dare hurt this woman in this kind of manner.

Chris McCandless was in his early 20’s, he was the kind of that guy that wanted to learn and experience life without all of the material things. He wanted to be independent from his parents and friends so Chris did something that would be insane for most of us humans but to him, it wasn’t. He went into the wild of Alaska for months, in fact, McCandless even thought he could make it out alive at the end of his journey. As a matter of fact, he was known as being a risk taker and enjoyed being out and about in the nature side of the world. Many would believe that Chris McCandless went into the wild to purposely kill himself; however, I myself believe that McCandless did not do it purposely.
Comparing Trials. We have court trials monthly, whether it's minor or major. But, without a witness how will the jury pick a side and decide if the accused is guilty or not guilty? As trails exist in non-fiction they exist in fiction.
In a time before the United States was a country, and striving for independence, an infamous man, Roger Sherman, took a stand against Britain countless times with his fellow patriots to create a new and independent government. The government we know of today wouldn’t have been possible if Roger Sherman hadn’t taken a stand by signing all four original American documents, ratifying the Constitution, and coming up with the Great Compromise. At first, when he created these works, it caused for major differences in opinion and an upheaval in the world, but in the end, helped establish a government the world had never seen before. Throughout history, people see issues within their society and do nothing or act upon them.
