It is amazing to see how rapid the technology is growing. The further it goes, the smaller its products are. It starts from big appliances to small chips; from macro to micro to nano. As everybody can see, nowadays technology controls the world. Nothing can function without the presence of technology. It seems like it becomes part of people’s everyday routine. Now, the world comes to a point where technology takes control of everything. The scientists invented the chip called RFID, which stands form Radio Frequency Identification. This chip can be implanted to the human body for several uses such as ID, bank account, passkey, patient medical records, etc. It basically stores information of the person. Eschatology, by definition is a part of Theology that focuses on the study of end times. Again, when looking at the book of Daniel chapter 12:4 where it says that knowledge will be increase in the last days, it can infer to technology because technology plays a great role in knowledge nowadays, and humanity gets to another level due to technology. Ronald Cole-Turner in his article entitled “Eschatology and Technology” was talking about Transhumanist goals, and he quoted, “Humanity will be radically changed by technology in the future. We foresee the feasibility of redesigning the human condition, including such parameters as the inevitability of aging, limitations on human and artificial intellects, unchosen psychology, suffering, and our confinement to the planet earth.” Humanity has been changed in many ways; in the way people communicate, learn, do business, and so on. And now, it comes to a point where people will not have to bring a tangible identity that contains their information because with the use of RFID implanted in them, a single scanning will give access to some information about that
