Ronald Reagan was elected in 1980. He had disenchantment with government and politics in his past. Not only was he in depth and acknowledged with the operation of politics, but was as well in depth with the intricacies of entertainment. His presidential election contained a transformation that was at the least of most American’s expectations, with his past of show business. His beginning to presidency was the point of a convergence, which that involved his acting career, and then becoming a dominant figure in politics, and in the nation. His knowledge with politics and government has sparked a great growth of a conservative movement in the nation.

Ronald Reagan served as America’s 40th president. Reagan managed to cut taxes, increase defense spending, negotiate a nuclear arms reduction agreement with the Soviets and is credited with helping to bring a quicker end to the Cold War. I think that president Reagan used his presidential powers properly in order to achieve what needed to be done.

Ronald Reagan was a character who optimized many of the people when things went very poorly. Many people said his personality was courage, courage that was natural to him, and a courage that was ultimately contagious. He also did do so much more like creating Reaganomics, strengthening nations, and improving many things in the economy.

The nation seemed to be troubled by its loss of power and fall from grace on the world stage. It wasn’t until 1980 with the inauguration of President Ronald Reagan that the American Spirit was lifted. During his presidency the United States saw great growth in Industry, defense, also great tax cuts and cuts in the federal budget and government funded programs. Ronald Reagan is a man of many talents, whether its on the big screen in movies of in the white house running the country. Being a great young actor in hollywood wasn't enough for him. H decided to give it all up to go into politics and eventually become the 40th president of the United States during one of our countries darkest periods. These aspects of Reagan's life are probably the most important and distinguished accomplishments for him.

In America we have had many presidents, they have done their job to get America this far. I would have to say that president Ronald Reagan would be my choice in who I think was the best President. I know I wasn 't alive when he was president but if I could I would like to live that time period. President Ronald Reagan was the 40th president. When president Reagan was elected on November 4, 1980 he was the oldest man ever elected at the age of 69. Then after his first term in the white house, he was reelected on November 6, 1984 at the age of 73. People say that Reagan had this charm that made it easy for him to connect with citizens on the as well at people that he worked with to keep earth running.

With great courage yet peacefulness, Ronald Reagan stated, “Tear down this wall!” By wall, he meant the Berlin Wall that divided East and East Germany. The Cold War was ending. Every president is either praised for helping advance a nation, or castigated for not doing anything. The success of a president is reliant on the success of the country. It seems that no matter the amount of work they put in during their time in office someone always has negative comments. If the majority of the country doesn’t stand behind the president nothing will be accomplished. The people are needed to help vote on bills put in place along with voting on who would make the best representatives. The success of a president is reliant on the success of the country. President’s Reagan and Roosevelt had opposite ideas but both did what they could to help better the country.

As the president of United States of America it can be a little hard to make certain decisions. What the people want and what is for the best for them is very different. Yet this President is for. Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton were presidents of the United States, who may have done good or bad throughout their time serving in office. Both presidents will be compared to determine who brought the best for United States.

He was not perfect and had more than one white house scandal during his presidency that he turned a blind eye to. But Grant did as well during his second term. Most would say that Reagan knew nothing of politics before becoming president. He was a Hollywood actress and very famous and some may even say that was why he was elected. Ronald Reagan, only movie actor to become president, was recognized for his conservative republicanism, fervent anticommunism, policies contributing to demise of the Soviet Union, appealing personal style, skilled as an orator which earned him the title “Great Communicator.” (Britannica) However, Reagan didn’t get this recognition easily, he worked really hard to get to there. Reagan got his start in politics in a televised 1964 address. In this address he makes a sweeping critique of liberalism, big government, and federal payments. (Encyclopedia) In this speech, known as “A Time for Choosing” Reagan used logos, pathos, and mood to invoke people’s feelings about making the right choice when choosing their leader in order for society to have a stronger and successful future.

Some people may think any of the 45 United States Presidents are corrupt politicians, that they are only trying to accomplish reelection or simply making them stand out in history. Although, there is one president who stood out amongst them all, who “was committed to absolute integrity. His trustworthiness was recognized by those he dealt with in Congress, in politics, and foreign leaders throughout the world” (Meese). That man is Ronald Reagan, aka. “The Great Communicator,” who, when listing the top presidents in American history, would be towards the top every time. As evident throughout his life, Ronald Reagan is indeed one of the most influential citizens of American history.

Conservatism and liberalism are two of the most dominant political philosophies and ideologies during the post-Enlightenment era (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy). As an ideology, conservatism served as a blueprint in the society which promoted the idea of retaining traditional social institutions, beliefs, cultures and discourage social changes. Although the United States of America during the present day promotes liberalism, there was one portion of the country’s history that conservatism was promoted due to several factors. This paper examines the very factors which gave rise to conservatism embodied in the candidacy of Ronald Reagan.

Roland Reagan came into the office during his first term hoping to use his administration to fight communism and end the Cold War. He finds out it was not easy as he thought. So, in his second term he turned to a different strategy getting to know someone like Gorbachev. The conservatives thought he was making a mistake. Roland Reagan’s success finally proved to the conservatives that his friendship with Gorbachev was not a dupe. Gorbachev was not deceitful, but a reformer who wanted to reform, change for Russia and end the Cold War. I agree that no president had subdued Russia, but the economic suppressed them when it collapsed. I enjoyed reading your post.
