The Great Ronald Reagan Ronald Reagan, as a loved and treasured president, was known for attacking the Soviet Union and its communism. He was very important to our nation and lifted the U.S. into a great time of prosperity. Going into Presidential office, Reagan had a few goals, end the cold war, bring down the Soviets, and be a gentleman. One of his famous quotes is “I did turn 75 today – but remember, that’s only 24 Celsius.” He was a very unique man. He was born on February 6, 1911 to Jack and Nelle Wilson Reagan. He had two children with his first wife, Jane Wyman. They had one daughter and one adopted son, Maureen and Michael. After divorce, the children stayed with their mother. The wise say it is easy to have convictions and uphold goals for the world around you when there are people around you that share the same conviction, but when one is by himself in those convictions, he will find it hard not to conform to society. Ronald Reagan held up his beliefs even when there were no like-minded people in sight. Ronald Reagan was the 40th U.S. president. He served a double term from 1981 to 1989. After his presidency, he served as the Republican governor of California from 1967 to 1975. Ronald Reagan is seen by the masses as one of the greatest presidents of all time. People adored him, and still do today. Mr. Reagan worked towards so many things with his share of time with big power. He vanquished our opponents in the Cold War, cut down taxes, and pulled America into a time of peace and prosperity. The cold War started after WWII and kept raging on for a half-century until Reagan stopped it. Everyone knows that Reagan was an actor before his term as presidency, but there are some who do not know of one of his famous bluffs of all time. Ronald Reagan sent a message to the Soviet Union that claimed that the U.S. had built a space device that could strike them down in minutes.
