The Most Extraordinary Organism- Giraffa Camelopardalis rothschildi Red List, Red List read all about it! Tallest endangered species in the world are the Rothschild Giraffes and there are only about 670 of this species left.(Giraffe on endangered list ) These beautiful graceful organisms are classified under Animalia, Chordata, Mammalia, Cetartioactyla, Giraffidae, Giraffa, Camelopardalis Rothschildi. The Rothschild Giraffe has found protection from man-made environment changes such as, the clearing of land for farming or the paid prize to hunt them down for sport, they now dwell protected in Kenya or Uganda, Africa. (Brennemann) The Rothschild Giraffe weighs about 2,500 lbs and can grow to be 20 feet tall, their height and great eye sight can be very beneficial in trying to observe any predators coming or when trying to eat from trees. (Giraffe worlds) These amazing animals are not only tall but fast and powerful too when a giraffe has grown to be a mature age they are able to defend themselves with their powerful kicks as well as using their long necks to thrash or head butt. These Giraffes eat leaves, shrub or tree buds, flowers, and fruit; they …show more content…
A Rothschild is the only Giraffe that has five horns while all other species have two. Also the Rothschild spots are different than other Giraffes. Their patches are dark brown with black and orange color to them and trickle getting lighter down to the knees and stop; from the knee down the leg is white, some say they look like white stockings. These patches are used for camouflage but they serve other purposes as well such as allowing heat to release from their bodies. Another interesting fact is that these spots are like our finger prints they are never identical on any other giraffe. They also have a tail that serves a purpose to keep pesky flies away. (Giraffe
There is a pattern for all animals like all the other things we talked about such as
Mariah Rocole APES 8-20-15 Endangered Species Today, 17,000 species are threatened to become extinct. The Pan paniscus more commonly known as the Bonobo, is an endangered species from the African continent. The Bonobo lives in the Congo Basin in Africa.
From the fossil teeth, we can infer that insects were not the only food for early primates, they also eat fruits as there are the presence of round molars which facilitate grinding. For instance, from the features of lions, we can see that they eat both meats and plats. In their teeth, there are both flat sharp molars. The flatter and rounder molars are for grinding grass fruits while sharper molars are for tearing meats. Also, by observing human fossil teeth, the flat and round molars enable them to grind plants and fruits.
These magnificent creatures are known for their bizarre traits. “Most characteristic of geladas is the hairless hour-glass shapes pin or red area of skin located on the chest” (Primate). My research will show geladas appealing characteristics, their fascinating habitat, unique diet, and their life cycle, making the gelada the most marvelous critter in the world. geladas live in chilly areas in Ethiopia, in the Simien Mountains in Gich and Sankaber. In the Horn of Africa in either the Ethiopian highlands or mountain grasslands are where geladas thrive.
White usually never crosses the back of an Overo. A Tovero pattern horse has one or both eyes blue; it has dark pigment around the mouth and ears. Some foals are born without color patterns (The American). Sabino has a different white pattern than the others. People can say Sabinos look like roan because the coat is not solid; it has white hairs mixed in the coat.
Climate change had a very large hand in the evolution of non primate evolution. Many factors that were changed as the worlds climate changed influenced the development of primates. The change in topography in certain regions changed the types of foods that were available in those regions, which in turn could kill of species that only eat one food group such as fruit. If the climate becomes colder than the fruit could not grow ideally, and therefore primates who ate fruit as there primary source of nutrients would either have to find another food group to adapt to or face extinction. The largest change is obviously one of change in terrain.
You then see the leader of all the bison. The leader stands straight and tall, showing every animal that he is the boss. Bison weigh around 800 and 2000 pounds and stand 6 feet tall. The geography as well as the history of Oklahoma is very interesting. One of the main reasons people come to Oklahoma is because of all the wildlife.
In the story “The Giraffe” by Mauro Senesi the giraffe is given human like characteristics such as feeling cold, getting frightened and crying. When first brought into the town the giraffe is an unusual sight for everyone. There are people that appreciate the giraffe like the boys and some freak out when they see the “beast”. The giraffe starts to feel cold when the story progresses into night time. “When all the shutters had been closed with a bang, a tremor seemed to pass down the animal 's long legs.”
The tarsier is easily distinguishable by the size of their eyes. They are some of the biggest eyes when it comes to primates. They have long legs and short forelimbs. They have hairless pads on their fingers similar to ours which is a result of a life of leaping and hanging vertically in trees. They share with us the development of the bony partition that barely separates eyeballs from the chewing muscles.
They actually have dental adaptations to account for this odd diet. 2. It is my understanding from what I learned in class that they don't like to eat the bark. 3. The reason they eat the bark is because it is an attainable resource they have during the months in which they have to resort to fall-back foods.
The Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) have a legal responsibility under the Wild Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act to ensure that protected wild horses on federal lands do not end up being rounded up or slaughtered. There are several ways to get involved in helping save the Salt River wild horses and other wild horses in the US. You could sign the petitions or contact advocacy groups who organize events, legally intervene to halt roundups, and work with the government agencies to find solutions. The Salt River Wild Horse Management Group is an AZ based non-profit Organization (501c3), set up to protect and preserve the Salt River Wild Horses.
It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see “Its is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent but the one most responsive to change.” -Charles Darwin. The character Piggy in William Golding's novel Lord of the Flies serves as the intellectual balance to the emotional leaders of a group of shipwrecked British boys, but he himself is not able to cope with the idea of change and fear is what holds him back. Their new society does not care about Piggy’s intellectual talents instead they value physical strength more, as they believe it is their key to survival.

Moreover, zoos always respond to emergencies, such as deadly threats to one or another species, by providing specialists and establishing breeding and treatment programs (Borrell 9). Thereby, both articles express the opinion that zoos are important for conservation purposes as they provide a wide range of specialists and research data. More significantly, they react on emergencies and do their best to protect endangered
Howler monkeys are one of the largest New World monkeys found in South and Central America, more specifically found in tropical forests of eastern Bolivia, northern Argentina, southern Brazil, and Paraguay. They live in large social groups that contains all of the family members such as parents, siblings, aunts and other relatives. They form a family of 8 or more members that stay and survive together. A unique fact about their group structure is that some of the male and female will leave the group they were born in and move on to join a total new group, with the majority of their lives growing up is spent in groups they weren’t born in or related to. Male and female howler monkeys are quite different in their appearance.
