Running Off The Road Analysis

The book Always Running, is written by Luis T. Rodriguez. This book is about a certain time of the author’s life story. Luis teenage years were the most difficult because he was involved with gangs and surrounded by negativity, he was constantly running away from the police.

“Grief does not change you, it reveals you.” This was precisely the case for the protagonist in "Off the Road" by Daniel Duayne. In an instant we see a man stripped of his socially constructed facade, bare, left vulnerable to the whim of his emotions. In this visceral state, his poignant reflections of the past implore us to evaluate the universal concept of loss, and in doing so, reminds us how facing reality and the totality of its truth, can influence how we internalize trauma, and ultimately make necessary sacrifices, to move forward.

One of the first solutions is the governments should create measures, such as make streetcar that is an energy saving and promote other transit systems, like bicycles or eco-friendly electric cars. In fact, the train and the streetcar are the most eco-friendly vehicles, because these produced lower CO2 emissions than cars and air plane. In Europe, twenty cities in 11countries are using these eco-friendly vehicles. Therefore, European people are actively working on decrease the environmental problems. If Hawaiian people use these eco-friendly vehicles, people will be stress reliever of the traffic congestion as well.

The passage, “Always Running” by Luis J. Rodriguez evokes the tone of indifference. Rodriguez demonstrates these tones through imagery. For example, at the beginning of the passage the narrator, Luis gives us background information about his living situation to set up imagery for the rest of the passage. Then, Luis sets the tone of indifference with this sentence “So without ceremony, we started over the tracks, climbing over discarded market carts and tore-up sofas.” This quote uses the literary device of imagery because the narrator is painting a picture of their environment. He describes his neighborhood without use of any adjectives that express emotion about how he feels about the place. The lack of emotion suggests that they have done this walk before and they have grown indifferent to their surroundings. Another example is at the high point of the story when he and his brother are getting beat up, “I watched the others take turns on my brother, this terror of a brother, and he doubled over, had blood and spew on his shirt, and tears down his face. I wanted to do something, but they held me and I just looked on.” Terror of a brother implies that Rano is a bully himself. Watching this must’ve been hard on Luis, but instead he does nothing. He does not fight back. When Luis just looks on, you can imagine that he just accepts this as something that occurs and they can do nothing about it.

Cars would make the perfect vehicle for a person 's daily commute to work or even a long business trip because of the amazing fuel mileage. They could swerve in and out of traffic with ease and fit into tight spaces a lot either such as parking spaces. Someone that lives a little out in the country may need a truck for certain tasks such as pulling a trailer for farm supplies and other things. Robert Johnson performed ‘Cross Roads Blues’ as a solo piece with his vocal and acoustic slide guitar in the style of Delta Blues, produced by Don Law. In this paper, I argue that there has been various advancement in car technology and those technologies have impacted the society both positively and negatively. There has been a massive dependency on the fast advancing technology by the society as a way of making people’s lives and those of others comfortable. People are happy about the continued growth of the car technology and the use of these cars in carrying out our day to day activities such as means of transport to work, hospital, school or transportation of goods from various places to our destinations. With the continued advancement in the car technology, the urge to provide efficient, cheap and safer cars cannot be avoided. Currently people live in a very competitive and growing technology thus they are doing whatever they can to ensure they cop up with this advancing technology.
