I would like to be a part of the S.T.E.P program to learn how I can increase my job knowledge, increase my productivity, and to influence the performance of my colleagues that are in need of guidance. I believe focusing on leadership skills and management fundamentals will help me become more effective and efficient in my current role as a Military Admission Representative. I would love to be a part of the S.T.E.P program to learn more about the leadership team, their plans for the future of South University and find out how I can contribute. This is a great opportunity to get in front of South University leadership and find out where they need assistance from me to help move the company forward. I make sure I am always leading by example and maintaining a strong work ethic. The way I am currently influencing the performance of my colleagues in the Military Division is by consistently meeting my performance requirements every quarter, and continually assessing how I can coach others to do the same. I lead my military admission team by supporting and assisting team members that have worked in the organization for as little as 6 months and as long as 6 years. I also focus on how I can help the entire graduation team meet their goals with financial clearance and continuing student body requirements. Leadership is needed in all areas of higher education, therefore I believe it is beneficial to have strong leadership and guidance provided on the front end and that will help maintain the successes of students and staff long
My robotics team and myself had to work together to create a robot that would complete tasks specified by the First Tech Challenge. We had to work together to decide what we wanted to achieve, and create a design to accomplish those goals. In particular, I worked a lot with the other programmer on our team because we were both new to the process and had to teach each other, as well as ourselves, many aspects of programming. This helps to prove that I am able to work well with others, listening to what they have to say as well as sharing my own thoughts and ideas. I believe that a good leader is able to work with others as well as work alone.
I volunteered at Mother Hubbard's Cupboard, an emergency food pantry, in Wilmington, North Carolina from 2012-2016. Throughout my four years of service, I learned how to handle almost all of the jobs available to volunteers, including packing packages for families with a stove or no-stove individuals, teaching new volunteers about the Cupboard and the jobs available, checking patrons in at the front desk, preparing hygiene supply packages for patrons, and working at various tables in the front to distribute various additional food to patrons. I am interested in serving on the Feed the Pack Leadership Team because I want to expand the overall impact and efficiency of Feed the Pack. I am committed to service and I want to lead a life of serving others, and I believe that working on the FTP Leadership team will allow me to continue to maximize my service efforts in the community and beyond.
As an aspiring physician, I believe that ILS will prepare me for success both inside and outside of the classroom. Through the connections, opportunities, and support I will receive in the ILS program, I know that I will best be prepared to apply to medical school. I value mentorship and am excited to have access to faculty mentors to guide me in my progress. The close community between peers and professors intrigues me to join this community and learn from a like-minded community. I am specifically excited to take new courses such as HLSC208, to learn about connections between molecular biology and computer programming.
I am interested in serving on SHAB because I have a passion for healthcare and serving others. As a Health Science major on the Pre-PA track, I want to educate myself holistically on healthcare issues to better myself, and thus the community. I did not know of the services and resources the SHCC has when I first arrived on campus, and feel that in serving on the board, I can eliminate this lack of knowledge to incoming students and current students to promote a healthier and safer university community. I would like to give back to the my community, become more involved on campus, learn about the healthcare field, collaborate with others, and challenge myself, and feel that SHAB is a great opportunity to do so.
These qualities include leading by example - being a role model who inspires others through their actions, developing subordinates - helping them grow professionally by providing guidance, achieving results - focusing on attaining objectives within set timelines without compromising quality standards or safety protocols. Army leadership has evolved from traditional command-and-control models to more collaborative approaches emphasizing shared responsibility among team members at all levels of the command hierarchy. This shift has resulted from recognizing that more than one person can accomplish everything alone, rather than working together as teams with diverse skill sets will increase chances of success. To conclude this paragraph on effective leadership qualities in the Army's context.
Many of my peers are content with average grades but I have always been an overachiever and have high expectations for myself, both in and out of school. Another way that I demonstrate leadership is by respecting
Army defines leadership as “influencing people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation, while operating to accomplish the mission and improve the organization.” As a professional Non-Commissioned officer, proudly serving in the United State Army and within the boundary that clearly depicts vivid picture of Army Leadership. I am SGT Mostafazadeh define and develop my first Leadership Philosophy and most importantly use it in the daily bases and maintain revision and update it as I develop and learn new thing throughout my Military Carrere. The ground foundation of my Leadership philosophy is based on three core Leader Competencies include Leads, Develops and Achieves and how each one of those factor impact my organization (Army), Army human resources (senior, peers and subordinates) and
1. My philosophy of leadership is about collaboration and teamwork. Respecting and treating everyone the same, is key to supporting a good team atmosphere. I believe when a leader puts effort and care into assisting others, then their peers and followers will naturally want to support them. It is also important for a leader to recognize, that advocacy must never become so important that the critical elements of leadership are neglected (e.g. policy enforcement, command support, etc...).
In order to run a successful organization, especially a good standing Army, there needs to be quality leaders within the organization. Leaders are artists, remaining flexible and adaptable in order to conform to any certain situation. In FM 6-22, leadership is defined as, “the process of influencing people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation while operating to accomplish the mission and improve the organization”. The vast majority of successful Army leaders exemplify this definition in their everyday life. So, what exactly does this process involve?
It is easy to doubt your abilities and it is immensely helpful to have understanding, relatable friends/coworkers to turn to. I hope to be just like the returning RAs my starting year: open-minded, optimistic, reliable, honest, and determined. Being mindful of the needs I had, and adjusting to theirs, is important to me. “Lead by example” is my favorite type of leadership, because I feel that it is so effective. It means to be confident in your own values and decisions to lead without having to worry about teaching to others orally.
The three skills are Leads, Develops, and Achieves. I try to use this method of leadership when leading others I influence and motivate them to pursue the goal. Also by leading from the form and doing setting the standard. Secondly, when developing my subordinates, I try to implement a positive environment so that all my soldiers can flourish and work as a team. A positive environment helps encourage soldiers to take the initiative and may cause them to want to work harder to gain more individual responsibility.
Leading is important but following is even more important and maybe a little more difficult. You must be able to follow rules and regulations, but also lean different techniques on leading
Be aware of who is above you in your hierarchy structure. It helps avoid going outside of your chain of command and to eliminate any potential obstacles you may come into contact with. If at any time you feel your current leadership is not helpful or causing more problems than usual, you should ask to be lead by someone else who better suits you. The Army defines leadership as “Influencing people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation while operating to accomplish the mission and improving the organization.” Douglas McCarther says "A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others.
The dictionary definition of teamwork is: 'the process of working collaboratively with a group of people to achieve a common goal. ' Our world runs largely on interdependence. Companies today know that effective products or services need multiple skills to be created and therefore better solutions, services, or products depend on better teamwork. More and more organizations nowadays assess teamwork skills before recruitment, yet our education has very rarely helped us to develop teamwork skills.
Generally, I have excelled in science within school because it comes naturally through dedication towards studying the subject, and I feel comfortable in the setting that surrounds it. The atmosphere of the lab and being able to work independently in order to research a topic is interesting and dynamic. Research topics are always changing and altering their focus based on the current situation of world events. Science research can vary anywhere form studying epidemics, and what causes them to understanding why hybrid crops are a more profitable option for farmers to grow. This variation captures my attention, thus creating my desire to further investigate the sciences.
