Mentoring is a form of coaching in which a more experienced manager helps a less experience protégé. Mentoring is more involved and personal than coaching. The mentors can be included a high level manager, family, friends and peers. Rick Dalzell, CIO of the Amazon was retired. He is an exceptional leader, mentor, and friend to Jeffrey Bezos and other people that are work with him. Rick Dalzell always helps them in work. These strategies have maintained and expanded their customer base locally and internationally and have increased its market shares and profit over the last two decades. In addition, projection for the company’s growth and expansion for the next three to five years looks positive as it predicted to grow at the same rate with its expansion internationally and continued focused in satisfying consumers’ wants (Amazon, 2018a). Although, some factors such as governmental policies, legal issues and natural disasters could pose a threat to Amazon’s growth plans, the management team led by the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) are working on mitigating the risk (Amazon, 2018a).

In order for the unit to effectively grow, we need to improve our communication and it starts with the leaders. Mentor Mentor is an experienced person in a company or educational institution who trains and counsels new employees or students(Oxford English Dictionary).Mentor help to promote personal and professional growth in an individual by sharing the knowledge and insights that they learned through the years. A mentor often has two primary functions,the career-related function which enhance the mentee’s professional performance and development as a coach and the psychosocial function which establishes the mentor as a role model and support system for the mentee. Amazon has achieved a lot on a great scale that it gets the best prices from its vendors so they can operate in very flexible and thin margins and sell their items easily at retail prices and make money. They also provide shipping products for a reasonable cheap price. They also have improved their warehouses by giving some space to other sellers who want to sell their items through Amazon. They differentiate and provide better quality than their competitors across the industry.
