It involves specifying the objectives of the business or project and identifying the internal and external factors. Specifically SWOT is nothing but the situation analysis, which determines where it stands on four key strategic areas, to better determine what changes to be made or else not.

The understanding and utility of Indriya sthana is given importance in Ayurveda and its significance is highlighted in order to protect the physician from loss of his knowledge, fame, wealth, etc. It is noted that the framing and contents of this section is quite different from the rest of the text.
