The brave time travelers Adolpho Amador and Claire Cindrellon, traveled back in time to the Safavid Empire which is located in modern day Iran. They were carefully chosen and trained, they both speak fluent Turkish and Persian,which were the two main languages of the empire. Their destination and time period were heavily researched to avoid any complications such as battles. It was decided they were to travel back to Isfahan in 1639. They would be in the capital city in a time of peace between the Safavids and the Ottomans. The ruler or “Shah” at the time was Shah Safi I. While they were in Safavid Persia they only called each other their fake persian names to avoid people’s suspicions. They referred to each other as Pari(Claire) and Alborz(Adolpho). …show more content…
They walked through the city, marveling at the different things they saw, until they reached the center of the city. The center of the city is a vast space called the Maidan-i-Shah, meaning royal parade. It was used for lots of parades and festivals. The trademark of persian architecture are their domes, and there were two magnificent examples of this, the masjid-i-Shah, or the royal mosque, and the mosque of Sheikh Lutfullah, which was Shah Abbas’ private temple which only he and his family could use for worship. Our two time travelers were awestruck by the massive examples of persian architecture in front of them. They were just standing for a few minutes looking at the buildings that were just part of daily life for everyone else, but to them were something that tourists stand in line to see. They also went and visited Kakh-e Ali Qapu, which is the great six story palace made to be the private residence of Shah Abbas I and his family members, and serves today as a gateway to other palaces, but the other palaces do not yet
Mansa Musa was the Emperor of Mali in the fourteenth century, he was known for being the richest ruler. He was born around 1230 and died around 1337. Mansa Musa is mostly known for his journey to the Muslim holy city in Mecca where he was introduced him to rulers in the Middle East and in Europe. Musa came to the throne of West Africa’s Mali Empire through a practice of appointing a deputy when a king goes on his pilgrimage to Mecca or journeys somewhere else and later naming the deputy as heir. According to historians, Musa was appointed the deputy of Abubakari II.

She is well-known for her gatherings that ridiculed racist attitudes about African Americans and for fittings that featuring mystical themes. Saar attended the University of California at Los Angeles from 1945 to 1949 and received a Bachelor’s degree in design. After receiving her BA degree, she worked as a social worker while she studied education and printmaking at California State University at Long Beach.

McLaughlin of CNN collaborated to cover this incident and submitted an article to CNN’s online webpage titled Orlando shooting: 49 killed, shooter pledged ISIS allegiance. Omar Mateen who was 29 years of age, resided in another area of Florida however, he was born in New York specifically, Long Island. Mateen worked as a security officer at G4S Secure Solutions which has been noted by CNN to be one of the world’s largest private security companies.
On May 22nd, thousands of people packed a Manchester concert venue to watch popstar, Ariana Grande. The crowd included a range of people from young children to adults. On the same day, Salman Abedi planned to attack the thousands of unaware children and young adults gathered in the Manchester Arena. Abedi, a 22-year-old United Kingdom citizen, detonated a rucksack packed with a massive number of small metal objects. The explosion took place between the arena and the Victoria train stations just feet away from concert goers.

The book My Name is Red, published by Turkish writer Orham Pamuk in 1998 and translated into English in 2001, presents a story set in Istanbul during the reign of Sultan Murat III in the 16th century. Covering a timeframe of about nine days, two main events set the story forward: the murder of the renowned illuminator Elegant and the return to Istanbul of Black after being in exile for 12 years. Instead of telling the story from one single point of view, the plot is narrated by multiple people who are identified in the title of each chapter. Pamuk also examines the cultural tension between the East and the West by centering it on two different theories of art. In the main story of the Arabian Nights, Shahrazad believes that the power of her tales will be able to keep King Shahryar from killing her or any more innocent women. Storytelling for Shahrazad is life, it isn’t only life for her but for the King, the young women in the kingdom, and society. Shahrazad is the storyteller, she carries out message, information, and knowledge, in an enjoyable way for the King. Shahrazad tells stories that relates to her and the Kings situation. Shahrazad takes the position of not only the storyteller, but also of the educator in a sense.
The introduction of Islam brought many beneficial changes to Arabia Peninsula between 550 and 1250 A.D. Many aspects of the changes such as political, economic and cultural changes helped shaped Arabia into powerful region that produced advances in fields of study and continued to influence greatly on other parts of the world. Prior to the Islamic Arabia, a period known as Jahiliyyah, politically there were absences in the form of governments. Arabians were split into tribes with a tribal head chief, usually the eldest head male. Tribes were constantly at warfare, struggling for the position of power, commonly resulting in a stalemate with no dominant force.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), is considered a major power in the Middle East. Many factors contribute to Saudi Arabia being such a power house. These factors are their economical wealth, military strength, and continuation to slowly adjust politically to the world. Saudi Arabia, once a land of tribes, is continuing to grow, and these are the reasons why. To start, Saudi Arabia’s success as major power in the Middle East is greatly contributed to their economical wealth.
