1. Safety
School safety is a serious measure that every school should take into consideration. Every school must have policies and measures to make sure that both educators and learners are safe when they are in the school premises. There are ways in which both learners and educators safety can be violated within the school through bullying, Violence, conflicts, gangsterism, sexual harassment and drug abuse.
1.1 Bullying
Bullying is to overpower someone, to force others to do something that is against their wish or values or to scare someone in doing something they do not want to do e.g. taking someone’s lunch without their will. Both parents and educators should give their learners care and love so that learners won’t feel neglected and unwanted. Teachers must take terms in standing in the gate every morning to search the school bags of all learners before entering school premises, to check for weapons and if they find them they must confiscate them. Parents should set a good example in the presence of their learners and teach their learners good manners. School must set the rules that makes it clear that when you get involved in violence you can be suspended or taken to detention. A school must have a code of conduct that states clearly what is expected of the learner and it must state that if a child’s gets involved in any type of violence or found with a dangerous weapon they will be suspended at school for a certain period. “A code of conduct should contain the basic rules of conduct or behavior, which clearly indicate what kind of behavior is expected from all learners.” (Joubert & Prinsloo,
