While interacting with the students of a govt. school, I asked, ‘who was the first woman chief minister of india?’ To my tter disappointment, I could not even find a single wrong guess. The only answer I got was Mrs. Indira Gandhi. These student were of class 12th.
When I visited a slum afterwards, I found some Italian photographers clicking pictures of the slum area. I called some alum children and pointed towards the foreigners and asked if they knew anything about Italy, not a single hand went up in the air saying that they knew about it. Those children were of 14-16 years age.
This led me to join the Education programme started by Sai Sena trust as they had been contributing well in this area. I primarily worked as a Computer techer to children of the age group of 10-14 years.
What I found was that the children wanted to learn all that they could, but didn’t know anything because they were never taught anything about it. So, as I started I found some very fast graspers and some slow ones but by the end of my 5 weeks participation almost all knew very well everything I

I made conversations with the other volunteer teachers to find that they shared my astonishment and were very happy to see such enthusiasm.
The programme gave me a chance to do something which actually makes a difference as somewhere it has been said “padhega india, tabhi to badhega india”. Holding that statement true and sharing the belief embedded in the message I saw that there is a lot of potential in the children who are not bestowed upon the right to education. It is not a PRIVILEGE but a RIGHT and thus, it should be provided to all without any discrimination.
What I did in the programme was a very small contribution but the amount of satisfaction it gave me was very big. Whenever I saw those happy faces, ready to study more it gave me satisfaction, because in those faces I saw potential for a better India, for a better world.
The families of some children (especially girls) did not support them. They think that there is no need to educate them because of the orthodox stereotype prevailing in the society that women are born only to look after children and
I did find the visit of great value, because it really opened my eyes of how different programs can be even if in the same local. It is inspiring to see where programs are and how much more potential they
Many school’s life skills programs from all over the area come to enjoy a day where they can be themselves and have fun. There is nothing more rewarding to me than to see these kids happy and to give them the chance to feel included. I have been incredibly blessed with all the opportunities the FFA has given me. The FFA takes students today and transforms them into leaders for tomorrow. Without the many opportunities that this program has given me, I would not be the person I am today.
“In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.” I said as i dutifully made the sign of the cross and picked up my book of hymns. As the organist began playing, I stared at the large golden cross that hung above the altar, its metallic sheen contrasting with the deep green marble. I was baptized as a Catholic, attended a Catholic elementary school and high school, and attended church every Sunday with my family. I made my first reconciliation and received a small silver cross necklace with a tiny peridot in the center.
Persuasive Essay Comparing Religion and Culture Some would argue that culture and religion are two disparate systems, because we define religion as a system of faith, and culture as a system rooted in one 's environment. However, others would argue that culture and religion are one in the same, because both religion and culture can describe the ideas, customs, behaviours, and beliefs of a particular group. Although the specific customs and beliefs of different cultures and religions vary, both religion and culture generally describe a set of beliefs and behaviours that are customary among particular groups and communities. Therefore, I believe religion and culture are more analogous to one another than they are disparate.
Freedom of religion is one of the most controversial topics in America today. Religion in the public square should be allowed. Freedom of Religion is a right that Americans have, so people can worship where and how they please. Many feel it is okay to practice your religion in public, while others feel it may offend other people practicing a different religion. Some countries have state sponsered religions, but here in the US most claim to be Christian.
Jurak Una PS190 Argumentative analysis essay In the past few years, there has been much discussion on whether religious teaching should be part of the public school curriculum. Religion is a constant element shaping our political, economic and social lives. It pinpoints the set of beliefs, dogmas and practices defining the relation between human beings and the so called “divinity”. The notion of religion has always been a very important element of the world’s history.
Culture and Religion seem to be working hand in hand in society, when looking at culture we look at characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, defined by everything from language, religion, food, social habits (things that are done natural e.g. saying please and thank you), music and arts. With religion people often use the word to mean the worship of a god or gods. However, some religions do not have gods. One thing that all religions have in common is that they help their believers to find meaning and comfort in the world by using some aspects from that particular religion. With culture and religion playing a big role in our everyday and life choices contraceptives go against a lot of cultural and religion choices and
Religious symbols being displayed in schools has caused a significant amount of controversy and debate, particularly in what could be considered a more liberal and free thinking global society. The state of societies and nations today seem to follow a secular position of government with there being no influence of religion on the operations of government. However, a more common scenario is that of a clear distinction between religion and state. Whilst the question posited asks us to determine whether or not school should display religious symbols in the classroom, the more significant question should be to what extent is there a separation of state and religion, and can it be justifiable in a supposed secular state for religious symbols to
The recent Constitutional amendments (73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments) brought about significant changes in the political scenario of the country with regard to women’s participation in politics. However, in India, attempts to secure political representation in higher political arenas have not been successful. Fresh impetus is required with a modern approach. Indian democracy is 60 years old now, yet the participation of women in politics has actually declined since the days of the freedom movement, both in quantity and
Ethics and Religion The human views on ethics are greatly influenced by certain beliefs, such as religion or philosophical ideas. Philosophy and religion are similar in this sense; they both are morally influential. However, if a person did not have such views, he/she is still capable of having good morals. Though religion is very impacting in many people’s ethical standings, and a majority of human morality is derived from some belief in religion or supported by philosophical reasoning, it is not the only way a person can be moral.
Religious Experience Reflecting on one’s religious experiences growing up can be a rigorous task but can also provide a self-reflection if the one reflecting looks at the events in a non-bias manner. I grew up in a non-structured home when it came to religion. My first experiences of religion came from my Dad’s stepdad. He owned a farm out in Bolton and when I was little I would go to the farm on the weekends and assist them on the farm and maybe see my cousins while I was there.
