The story of Saint Joan of Arc begins and ends solely with the bravery and faith of a young French woman. Joan was not only an excellent example of a child of God fighting for her faith, she was a female soldier fighting for France amongst the ranks of men. Although she was doubted, scorned, and accused of witchcraft by many men, she proved that she could achieve anything with trust in God. I chose Joan of Arc as my saint because her courage and perseverance has set an applicable example for myself proving that anyone can accomplish their goals with the help of God. When Catherine was born, she had a twin, but unfortunately her twin died. Her father, Jacopo, was a rich wool dyer and owned a big house where their family lived.
