The Salem witch trials are one example of mob mentality. The Salem Witch Trials was a time when people were prosecuted and thought of as to be witches in 1700’s Salem. During the salem witch trials many were killed because people feared they were with little to no evidence. People feared others were witches, and that others would accuse them of being witches. “I saw George Jacobs with the devil, I saw Goody Howe with the devil.”(Miller 48) In Salem people could be labeled a witch for doing anything at all, people often confessed even though they were not witches to not get hanged.
