Same sex marriage should be allowed and not judge. Same sex marriage is such a controversial topic, ask anyone they will all have an opinion about same sex marriage. Everyone should be able to have the same rights in housing, jobs, public accommodations, and should have equal access to government benefits, equal protection of the law, then they should be able to get married. I will discuss arguments about same sex marriage; the real reason people oppose same sex marriage and statistics about same sex marriage. This topic should be interesting because this is a very relevant topic that has been discussed in politics and your everyday life for the last couple of years.
Some of the arguments against same sex marriage are that first most people believe that marriage is an institution between one man and one woman (Equal Marriage for same-sex marriage). The straight community could not show a compelling reason to deny the institution of marriage of the LGBTQ community, it should not be denied. If marriage should be between one man and woman, relationships like polygamy should not be allowed and in the Muslim religion men are allowed to have more than one wife, but people do not see this as much of a problem. The LGBTQ community is allowed the same rights as everyone else and marriage should be one of them and just the reason that it is not right is not a good reason.
Other people believe that same sex marriage should be illegal because they should not be able to raise a child. In
Recently, gay marriage was legalized in all 50 states. Most Americans accept it; as America is becoming more open and tolerant of same-sex marriage. They believe that everyone should be able to love and be with whoever they want. On the other hand there are many who wholeheartedly disagree and believe that marriage is exclusively shared between a man and a woman. A county clerk in Rowan County, Kentucky with this belief refused to issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple.
Why she decide to write about gay marriage as well as giving readers background to how the issue has affected the world and what people think about it. She challenges people to think more on why they are opposed to gay marriage stating, “Will someone please explain to me how permitting gays and lesbians to marry threatens the institution of marriage? Now that the Massachusetts Supreme Court has declared gay marriage a constitutional right, opponents really have to get their arguments in line” (Pollitt 560). It sets up her main idea of the essay and of each paragraph. Her questions help lead her thoughts into what people have been using as an excuse for opposing gay
This analyses that same sex couples should also have the right to marry. One of the reason why the supreme court sided with Loving was because “Decisions about marriage are among the most intimate that an individual can
Same-sex marriage has a near even split of people that are for or against it. This split is seen clearly in the Obergefell v. Hodges case in the U.S. Supreme Court, where the decision was 5 to 4. The majority in this case chose to legalize same-sex marriage in all 50 states. This decision brought a lot of controversy from the U.S. citizens, and the controversy came from the question if the Supreme Court decision in Obergefell was the correct decision for America. The answer is no.
We are allowed to voice our opinions. There is separation of church and state, which means that there can’t be laws made about religion. Recently, gay marriage was made legal in all fifty states. However, a judge in Kentucky has denied same-sex couples marriage licenses. It could be argued that if she denied it for her own religious beliefs, it violates the First Amendment.
Why do people have a problem with gay marriage? It is not all people who have a problem with gay marriage, but there are those who believe that gay marriage is an abomination and goes against God. Others however, believe that people are just people, and it does not matter if you are gay or not. Charles Colson believes that gay marriage is the end of the tradition of marriage; especially if gay couples are able to adopt children. Katha Pollitt however, believes that it does not matter if a couple is gay, straight, or elderly; as long as they are happy together and love one another.
There is discrimination in this world to this day, there is discriminations against “people who are gay”. This discrimination is just like the Holocaust, because the Germans didn’t like the jews. I believe the gay marriage should have been approved long before it was. People need to realize judging someone because they are gay is wrong, that person is obviously an idiot. It is not up to people to judge other people because they are gay.
The debate around same-sex marriage was is a good idea to legalize it. I believe that same-sex marriage should be legal. I don’t think there is anything wrong with people of the same sex getting married. Now the concept of traditional marriage has changed and the power of love is more important than gender in my opinion.
My second reason for supporting LGBT/ same-sex marriage is the reason for discrimination against marriage. The UDHR article number 7 illustrates that all people are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination. Furthermore, article 1 of the UDHR also indicates that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. We should act towards one another in a spirit of a brother. By denying the same right as anybody else just because you are different is a clear form of discrimination, and it goes against the constitution.
Homosexuality is becoming more and more accepted and integrated into today’s society, however, when it comes to homosexuals establishing families, a problem is posed. In most states, homosexuals can adopt children like any other married or single adult. There are many arguments to this controversial topic; some people believe that it should be legal nationally, while others would prefer that is was banned everywhere, or at least in their individual states. There are logical reasons to allow gays to adopt children, but for some, these reasons are not enough. The main issue really is, what is in the best interest of the child?
Everyone should be able to receive the same benefits and acceptance regardless of their sexuality so granting legal marriage rights under the law must extend to gays and lesbians to ensure that all citizens enjoy full human
Every year forced marriage sentences millions of women and young children to a life in slavery. It’s a crime that’s widespread, but rarely spoken about – a crime that flourishes in the shadows of society. The UN says that forced marriage is likely to increase in the coming years unless major changes occur. Due to stigma and lack of awareness about forced marriages, many people do not report cases of forced marriages. We can help ensure that people at risk and their families know that forced marriage happens, forced marriage is illegal and activists around the world are taking a stand to end the practice forever.
To most ears, it probably sounds inoffensive. A little outdated and clinical, perhaps, but harmless enough: homosexual. But that five-syllable word has never been more loaded, more deliberately used and, to the ears of many gays and lesbians, more permissiveness. Homosexual’ is the ring of ‘colored’ now, in the way your grandmother might have used that term, except that it hasn’t been recover in the same way. Consider the following phrases: homosexual community, homosexual activist, homosexual marriage.
EQUALITY FOR LESBIAN, GAY, 3 Equality for LGBT Lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, and queer community needs equality because they are humans, they need love and care, and they should be respected by everyone. This community is also known as LGBT or LGBTQ community. LGBTQ community is a group of people who are lesbians, gays, bisexual, transgender, and queer. This group of people is also known as homosexuals. This people experienced harassment, discrimination, and threat of violence because of their sexual orientation.
Homosexuality was once considered sacred in ancient Rome, albeit being treated poorly since the middle ages. Like this, homosexuality has been suppressed for a long time and thenceforth, the public opinion towards it has been on a downward road until recent years when LGBT groups started stepping up front and coming out along with the increasing controversy towards their rights. The subject of homosexuality has always been polemical. Every once in a while a news article would come up saying something like "Manny Pacquiao provokes storm by calling gay people ‘worse than animals’" or "Sam Smith Talks Coming Out As Gay".
