He had Fresno State try to sign him, San Diego State, SMU, and Wyoming those are just a couple of colleges that talked to him. Fresno State was probably the best choice he could’ve made for his career because they helped him do what he wanted to achieve which is make the NBA. The college he went to was the best choice for him. No one thought he could make the NBA except his mom and two sisters which were his inspiration. Paul George one of the best players in the NBA today will get back to good health and he will play to full ability again one day.
Then there were legends like bill russell. Bill Russell does have more nba championships but Shaq has more seasons played with nineteen seasons to Bill Russell 's thirteen. For the second time in his pro career, the Lakers defeated the Philadelphia 76ers for the championship title. Additionally, Johnson, who scored 13 points, and made 13 rebounds and 13 assists in Game 6 of the 1982 Finals, earned his second series MVP award. The following season (1982-83) saw the third Finals match-up between the Lakers and the 76ers in four years. This time, however, L.A. was defeated by Philadelphia, losing four consecutive games to the 76ers and winning none during the series. In the 1984 NBA Finals, Johnson again encountered rival Larry Bird, who had signed with the Boston Celtics.
That NBA draft Kobe was drafted 13th overall by the Charlotte Bobcats, but then traded to the LA Lakers. In Kobe’s basketball career he went on to win 5 NBA Championships, 1 MVP award, NBA All-Rookie Team, 3 time All-NBA team, 3 time All-defensive Team, 2 time NBA finals MVP, 3 time NBA All-star game MVP, and the defensive player of the year. Outside of the NBA Kobe has won 2 Gold olympic medals for basketball. Ever since a young age Kobe knew that he was going to make it big. He did this all because of his amazing work ethic and love for the game.
Michael Jordan had to work so hard as a young adult to get to where he is now and it has made people see as an Allstar on and off of the court. Also all his determination to be a greatest role model has made his game much more aspiring to young athletes, and in his older age Michael is still continuing to to be the great role model that he once was as a NBA Allstar. Michael Jordan was possibly the best basketball player in the history of the National Basketball Association but he also was one of the most impactful role models to ever
Kobe Bryant is regarded by fans and critics as the best basketball player of the last decade. After winning five national championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, Bryant now focuses on developing his business skills to lead his life off the court. Bryant, during his farewell tour, penned multiple letters, which focused on his experience in the National Basketball Association, that received acclaim from his peers and critics. Ben McGrath of The New Yorker responded to Bryant’s Dear Basketball as well as his overall career. Letters tend to enrich relationships and provide a medium for self-expression where as editorials attempt to persuade their audience to by providing facts and experience on the subject.
Basketball is and will always be a favorite sport for people of all ages. Not only to play, but also to watch and root for your favorite team. The 90’s era is one of the best in history; therefore, its most memorable. Players such as Stockton, Pippen, Isaiah, Magic and Barkley, also contributed to the game, yet none can compare to MJ. Born on February 17, 1963, Michael Jeffrey Jordan is arguably the greatest to bless the sport and culture.
A featured NBA columnist, Grant Hughes, for the Bleacher Report recently wrote an article about who are the best defenders in the NBA. The last four winners of the NBA Finals have all had someone from the top five on Hughes’s list, this clearly demonstrates the importance of good defenders (Hughes, 2014). Great defenders can also be your superstars, superstars can also fill the roles set for the role players. That was the case two out of the last three years with the Miami Heat, Lebron James was their superstar as well as their best defender. There is no team that has won the NBA Finals in the last fifteen years without having at least one high quality
One of the Best, by far, Yes! Having won nearly a quarter of all the championships awarded since 1946, is without a doubt a major accomplishment for the Boston Celtics (Boston). Not many teams have had as much success as the Boston Celtics, and that’s why they are one of the more prestigious NBA teams. A total of 17 championship title awards over the decades. Most NBA teams have one if any championship titles, but yet the Celtics have 17 alone that’s amazing.
The San Antonio Spurs The San Antonio Spurs were founded in 1967 by Irving Allen Mathews. They were originally named the Dallas Chaparrals, then the Texas Chaparrals, which both played in the ABA, but then were changed to the San Antonio Spurs in 1973 and joined the NBA in 1976. Now the Spurs are one of of the best, if not the best, basketball franchises ever. I think that they are the best because of their consistency of winning. The Spurs have only missed the playoffs 4 times out of of their 40 seasons in the NBA, which is the least amount of times missing the playoffs in NBA history.
For Michael’s first championship in the finals in 1991, his team won the series easily in a 4-1 victory against the Los Angeles Lakers. For most of Jordan’s career, his team usually consisted of at least one other Hall of Famer, and for all of his championships, he had Scottie Pippen. In the 1998 NBA Finals, Pippen was robbed of the Finals MVP award, which they instead gave to Jordan. In game 4, he put up 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists, which was crucial in that game, which they won 86-82 against the Utah Jazz. To have a teammate like Pippen, who averaged 17.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in the playoffs, made it easier for Jordan to succeed in the finals.
He never knew he would be so acclaimed in the town as one of the best coaches in the city, but this success was not alone his. His team’s dedication and hard work were behind the team’s success; according to him, his guidance has led the team to emerge out as the best among others.
Jordan led his team to the finals six times and came out victorious all six of those times. He was also named finals MVP all six times. Jordan has another amazing record when he scored 63 points against the Boston Celtics in 1986. Jordan’s success in the finals and post-season was an amazing feat that’ll probably never come close to being accomplished ever again (Zachmo Marsupalami.) When focusing on the post season performances between the two
