“Why? What’s the purpose of talking to her.”

“I saw why Malessica left.” Yuri said. “She wanted to better by helping the ones who couldn’t use manifestations, but the Sangrine Syndicate isn’t about helping the world anymore. It’s much darker than that.”

Sabra’s eyes widened, trying to remain conscious. “What exactly are you saying?”

“I can’t explain much right now, but I can discuss some other time. I have to get you out of here, you won’t be safe if Vittorio gets here.”

“Isn’t he your ally?” Sabra asked.

“Vittorio is something else, He’s not someone we want to deal with.”

Sabra remained confused watching Yuri help her up. Something in Yuri’s eyes, let Sabra know her words were sincere. Standing up slowly, Sabra took deep breaths. Yuri continued to assist Sabra, walking towards the stairwell. Noticing the blood, dripping from Sabra’s forehead, Yuri sighed. Not having anything to stop the bleeding, Yuri tried to move quickly to safety. Exiting the building, they returned to the streets. The debris started to clear from the air, while people started to crowd the streets once again. Yuri visibly upset at going overboard, tried to avoid eye contact with anyone.

“I should be hurting you.”

Looking at the ground, Yuri shook her head. “I told you already, I chose not to kill them. I’ve never killed a single person before. I weakened my bazooka’s effect, so they wouldn’t die.”

“You’ve never killed one person? I don’t believe that.”

“It’s the truth, whether you want to believe it or not.”

“Why are you in the syndicate then?”

“They offered me a manifestation and they took care of me when I had no one. What else was I supposed to do? You think I enjoy being around them? They murder innocent people?”
