Santoshi Mata: The Goddess of Satisfaction
Santoshi Maa is a newly introduced goddess in the pantheon of Hindu God and Goddess, who came to be known as a Goddess around the 1960s. She has this image of having a lovely heart that fulfills everyone’s wishes and provides them satisfaction. She is mostly worshiped in parts of North India and Nepal. A ritual fast, better known as vrata, is performed by women to win the Goddess’s favor; this whole vrata last long for 16 consecutive Fridays or more as the devotee determines. In the 16 days of vrata, the devotee should perform a pooja wherein one should offer her flowers, incense, and a bowl of jaggery and roasted chickpeas.
The devotee on the day of vrata should start its day by getting up early in the morning and remembering the goddess. Devotees take only one meal at any time of the day and

On May 15, 2017 I interviewed Santos Ochoa about what it means to be American to him. This past Sunday, June 18th, America lost muslim teen, Nabra Hassanen to what most call road rage, and others, a hate crime. Hassanen, accompanied by a group of friends were headed back to a local mosque after a trip to a fast-food restaurant. It was then that they encountered driver Darwin Martinez Torres and an argument erupted. The altercation escalated, resulting in the capturing and death of 17 year old Hassanen. Torres had beaten her with a baseball bat, abducted her, and dumped her body into a lake.

As an African American, I think it is important to provide other dance therapist information for working with African American and educate them about our culture.

The Hidatsa Indians killed all the men, women and boys at our tribe. Only young women like Sacagawea and her friend Naya Nuki, as they went to their village in North Dakota we worked as their slaves. In Great Falls, Montana I bought a condo there several years ago… the Lewis and Clark expedition learned for a route through the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. On May 14, 2017 I interviewed Pouneh Sanaee about what it means to be American to her. She’s an immigrant that moved here two years ago from Iran. she wants to be a pharmacist, start to play basketball basketball like she used to in High School, and be able to help her family. The government used to jail her family just because of what they believed in which is really sad.
Karta is a 12 year old African American girl, who has experienced a long history of trauma. She was referred to me by her school social worker Ms. Johnson who reports that she has academic problems, severe inattention, hyperactivity, physical violent tantrums and is disrespectful to her peers and teachers. Karta was raised in a single parent household during the first few years of her life. Karta’s father died in a car accident before she was born so she never got a chance to meet him. Karta’s mother Michelle became depressed and turned to alcohol to cope with her pain.
