I 'm actually torn on this issue. The current price tag to support the homeless, or possibly even the underemployed, is enormous, and what we 've been doing clearly isn 't working. Changes to how we live, and technology have rendered many jobs obsolete, or soon to be obsolete so can 't expect people to work in unskilled jobs when those jobs don 't exist anymore. There will always be people who cannot support themselves due to mental or physical challenges, and society should ensure that they are provided for. There will also always be those who, due to an event or situation, find themselves without a home or means to provide for themselves; these people need assistance for a relatively short period of time. Then there are those who will play
Why should people who go to work and hold a job be subjected to homelessness in the greatest country in the world? Many other middle-class Americans are too shielded by their almost perfect lives to even see this. Many of them even have the audacity to say that homeless individuals or the lower-class is just lazy. Barbara Ehrenreich directly
After the great depression and the crash of 2008, the number of homeless people has risen. Luckily, during recent times, the rate of homelessness has decreased. However, the economy is still deeply affected by homelessness through housing and sheltering projects and medical issues. These costs a lot of money and negatively affects the economy. Homelessness has existed since the beginning of civilization, usually because a lot of people at the time are too poor to buy a house.
The current government is creating a situation where more families along with their children are experiencing homelessness. An individual may be considered homeless when they lack permanent housing and have to stay in shelters, abandoned buildings or vehicles, on the streets, or in other forms of unstable situations. Many homeless people start out with jobs and stable residences, but then social and economic factors intervene, causing a rapid change in their living situation causing them to leave, and live on the street. Even with the population of homeless keeps increasing, the government does not aid nor benefit the homeless because they only worsen the homeless problem by having laws that go against homelessness, not helping mentally ill homeless population, and having the lack of subsidized housing.
Raising money to lower homelessness in America would not necessarily be a problem if people took it seriously. Homelessness is often overlooked due to the outstanding amount of money it would take to help the homeless. Though it would probably take a few years, getting the money to help them is possible. Another problem American may face as we help assist the homeless is that we do not know how to help them in the meantime.
Homelessness is one the most ignored problems in the United States with citizen and politician. Homeless people are walked by and ignored. Nobody ever thinks that they will be homeless. Due to the economy, people live paycheck to paycheck making house payments very difficult. Most people will want to believe most homeless people are drug addicts or alcoholics, but most people will be surprise to know that it is no all true.
The number of homeless people sleeping on the streets of the United States hasn't changed over the years. Many people use the least effective ways in helping the homeless. On the other hand, the most effective ways in helping the homeless are: giving homeless people a voice, giving the homeless access to shelters without being judged on how they behave, and supporting the non-profit organizations that want to end homelessness. A great way to help the homeless is giving homeless people a voice.
During the recent years homelessness has increased eminently. Although homelessness is not a new phenomenon it has become a huge social issue in today’s society. In urban areas homelessness is visible by the masses but ignored by society’s negative perception. Characterized as unstable individuals, alcoholics and criminals by society, these negative stereotypes have only escalate the issue. Homeless can occur at any stage of life for multitude of factors.
You see people on the streets begging for money, and a lot of time people question why don’t they just get a job. It’s consistently thought that a simple solution to being homeless is getting a job. If you need money than go work for it. This is an oversimplification and makes it seem as if it’s easy to solve homelessness. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics found that about 4.1% of the population is unemployed.
More people suffer from homelessness than we realize. We often take for granted having a home to go to. I completely agree with Anna about her feelings on homelessness. I often see the homeless on the side of the road and I normally refer to them as homeless people but what I fail to realize is, that “homeless person” has a name, that “homeless guy” is a human being just like the rest of us longing for certainty, stability and privacy. Those “homeless people” are human beings without a home.
The issue of homelessness in America has been evident since the early 1600’s. Across the country men, women and children spend their nights on the streets not knowing when or if they will ever find a permanent home. States and federal officials or city councils have tried to alleviate or at least reduce the number of homeless over the last several decades at a city, state or national level but it continues to be an ongoing problem. There is a multitude of factors that account for the growing homeless population that affects each state in the country differently. Though there are many contributing factors that contribute to the amount of people living on the street at any given night in the U.S.

Should People Give Money to the Homeless? If you want the best for the homeless, you should not give money to the homeless directly you should give money to charities to help the homeless instead. Panhandling should not be allowed because many of the homeless people use it on drugs and alcohol. Another reason you should not give money to the homeless is because you do not know if they are fakers.
Communities should develop plans to help these people in need and give them a place to stay instead of living on the streets. Society has failed to support these people in need because of the primary focus being on the more fortunate who can give back to the society. I say that the homeless should be prioritized over the wealthy because they are more in need than they are. This being said, we can never blame the individual for what society has put them through. I do believe that if society gives homeless people a second chance they deserve they could strive to make their lives better with our help.
When a homeless man goes in for a job interview, he will feel as if he does not have a shot, due to not having the proper knowledge. His background will not be able to support him, and if he does not have a place to call ‘home’, how would the company be able to make sure he will show up every day, and how he would get there? Society should be helping the homeless out and giving them the knowledge they need, so they can get back on their feet. Helping even the slightest bit would get some homeless to start pushing forward in life to make sure their futures are better that what it looks at the moment. Everyone has to start somewhere.
