This is an essay that will focus on the school-aged child. The school-aged child is defined as the children age from six to twelve years old. In this age group, a child will start to go to school for learning and start to develop gradually in different aspects such as physical, cognitive, psychosocial and moral. The client who participated in this assessment was called Muhammad Ruzaini (M.R). The discussion in this essay will be mainly about the development of M.R in different aspects as a school-aged child. Besides that, community resources available to M.R to maintain and promote his health will also discuss. M.R is currently eleven years old and he is the only child in the family. His father works as a warehouse supervisor and his mother is a nurse. Both parents are healthy, do not have any other diseases as well as M.R. There was no health issue for M.R during his pregnancy. There are four stages and M.R is in the third stage which is called concrete operational. According to Rathus (2008), in the stage of concrete operations, the children age between six to twelve years old have developed the ability to think as an adults. They have better understanding of cause and effect. M.R is able to perform concrete more logical thought processes and reasoning for familiar situations. For example, if M.R is not feeling well in school, he will call his father rather than seeking help from school nurse. Besides that, M.R is able to differentiate relationship between family, friends, and teachers. Overall M.R does not have cognitive developmental delay as he understand the concepts of reversibility, conservation, seriation, and classification. During the beginning of modern Europe, there were conflicting views on the proper way to view children. Previously in history, the infant mortality rate was very high, so kids were treated more like adults and were often neglected because odds were they would die. There was a resounding view that kids should be treated harshly in order to become strong. Then in the seventeenth century, the idea of being tender and gentle to your kids was introduced. The way in children were brought up was influenced by assumptions made on both old and new schools of thought.

According to Piaget there are four stages of intelligence. They are as follows: the Sensorimotor stage from birth to 2 years of age. In this stage Piaget states that the child is able to objects and stimuli but lack an internal representation of the outside world. The Preoperational stage from ages two to seven in which the child is able to use language to communicate, they also have the ability to think in images and draw those images. The Concrete Operational stage from ages seven - eleven is where the child should be using logical reasoning and is able to think in multiple dimensions.
I've always thought to myself, is childcare really that important? Do we as staff at a childcare facility really make that much of a difference in lives around our communities? Over the last year or so I’ve managed to prove to myself that childcare really is important and it benefits peoples everyday lives. Childcare is important because we all play a big role in children’s and their parents lives.
Thesis Children’s inactivity is impacted by technology, parental influence, society and food. In today’s society, children are bounded by all the outcomes that are provided in this world such as electronics, unhealthy foods, and negative parental influence. Children are resilient to stay indoors rather than exploring the nature world. In general, some children don’t like sightseeing the wild adventure in nature. In Where do Children Play by Deborah Banks, she emphasized how she took her students on nature exploration.
Virtual Child My child’s name is Carter Pirnuta. He was born at full-tem with no complications. He typically sleeps 15 hours a day with increments of around 2 hours at a time. Carter is able to digest new foods well, so the doctor recommends that he eat a variety of foods.
He starts to solve more complex problems and forms mental images for things, actions, and concepts. He also can solve more problems in his head by performing mental trial and error instead of having to manipulate objects physically. For example putting building blocks together and knowing how to attach them instead of not building it right. In addition, his memory and intellectual abilities develop and the sense of time becomes more evident. For example, a mother would tell her child, “ You could play a game after you finish eating.”
The purpose of my reflection and artifacts is to provide you with information about my learning skills and experience that I have gained during my studies for the Early Childhood Education program. My experience throughout the course was fun especially on my Virtual Child Assignment because it was an interesting journey. I have discovered about the development and behaviour for my child Neel. This course had a good impact both on me and my learning skills because I had the opportunity to apply my knowledge skills ages and safety, the health and safety practise which I believe is important for a child. Secondly the most important part that I found in the virtual assignment was the working step by step process about the Child’s growth hence, I learned the importance of the health and safety practises which are very important for me to work as an Early Childhood Educator.
There are a lot of charities and other organisation that are involved in the protection and safeguarding of children and young people. There are laws and legislation in place which all organisations and charities have to follow which is a basic level of care. They have on obligation to ensure best practise is followed to safeguard young children. Safeguarding is more than child protection and it promotes child welfare and it also protect them from harm. Safeguarding is to protect children from maltreatment, prevent bad health and bad treatment.
Children and their development. Development in a change that is systematic, organized, and successive in character. An example of this in the book is that, a young girl is grumpy because her cereal is not sweet. To fix this her dad adds in some fruit to and the young girl is now happy.
He is studying in Nursery 2 with 10 others children and a form teacher. Daniel has been with me for almost two semester. He is well – liked by his peer and he is able to interact well with both teachers and peers. He speaks and acts politely with peers and adults using words like ‘please’ and ‘thank you’. He is from a Mandarin speaking family, thus he speaks in Mandarin most of the time.
Birth and Infancy (0-3 years) Physical development During the first period of a child’s life, we develop from absolute physical dependence to independence though the new skills and strength we gain each day. By just 1 month old a baby can turn its head from side to side whilst lying flat and has started to move it’s hands and arms, from here the baby’s motor control will continue to develop from the head, to the arms and trunk until the physical development reaches their legs and feet. While the baby is between 4 and 6 months old, the significant stage of the first roll becomes due.
Through this knowledge, the teacher can presume how children of a particular age group will act, what they are capable of doing and what they are not likely able to do. Consequently, the teacher can devise activities rather confidently by taking all these aspects into consideration. At this stage, the teacher can take advantage of the windows of opportunity for the child’s growth. In other words, the teacher benefits from the sensitive period of a child’s development to provide him with enriching activities; the best period for the child to learn and develop further. In addition, what the children learn should be relevant to their environment and life experiences.
Save the Students Public schools are a yearly requirement for people under the age of eighteen. Schools are already opened for ten months a year, five days a week from 9-4pm which is more than 80 % of a student’s entire existing time. From the early age of five, all the way until the age of eighteen, these students by law have to attend school. It would be quite unreasonable and unfair to the students if public schools were to be open year round. Public schools should not be kept open year round because they stress the students, take away family time, and remove any possibility of leisure time.
Disabled Children and Schools. It seems that people assess the state of public to go for children with high-capacity public schools came with a positive result meaning it is the outcome of 53% agree to go kids included those for public schools meaning it is more than OK half of this opinion.
