Do you think school lunches are healthy for you or no? Allowing the principal to let us change the meals would lead to less healthy foods then they already are. Its a good thing to have healthier foods since they provide energy for the school day, allowing kids focused more on there works then there stomach growling. . If I were to change one thing in my community, I would change the school lunches, because they taste horrendous, and they need to be healthier. First, the lunches should not be processed foods because those use a lot of chemicals that are harmful to the body. Some examples of processed foods are foods that come pre made or from a box or a can. Processed foods usually contain more con syrup and sugars, usually addicting and can make you gain weight, contains many artificial ingredients, high in carbohydrates, and uses lots of oils that are usually processed as well.
Ariana Cha combats a seriously pressing topic in her writing. While many articles are very quick to bash the school lunch program, while this article can enforce it. Cha is supporting the most common argument with the school lunch program, nutritional content. Cha is stating that the nutrients are offered, but are not being accepted by the students. The audience intended for this reading is, literally, anybody that disagrees with the provided meals.
I believe that the lunch menu at schools should not change to a more healthier lunch. In fact, it would most likely cause a lot of issues between parents and the school board. Students would not like the fact that all their favorite foods are gone. Also, students would start packing their own lunches at home and bringing their packed lunch to school. Some kids might just go without eating all together.
Every day students enjoy their lunches at school. They always enjoy eating their delicious meals where they have the option to chose what they want. If their lunch is changed then their options will be limited. Changing the lunch to be healthier will not be something that will be very great for our school. If the school lunch is changed then some of the students that are larger could not get the nutrition they need and hurt the ones that really need those extra calories.
As I walked into the cafeteria, I caught a whiff of the food being prepared in the cafeteria and thought to myself, “Why can’t we go off-campus to get lunch?” While SLA, the lunch program at Catholic High, provides the school lunches, there could be an alternative solution to this. Unfortunately, students are detained at school during lunch hours and are not able to leave campus during lunch forcing them to be served by SLA or bring their own lunch. If Catholic High School were to introduce an open-campus lunch, students and faculty would benefit greatly. While SLA does provide the lunch at CHS, they do not live up to their standard of “high quality, nutritious, and cost efficient”.
Is the money you are paying for lunch really worth it? Our district has been losing a lot of money when they were in control of our school lunch prices. So our Board of Education hired Aramark to break even... But at what cost? Many families are spending hundreds of dollars per year on just one student.
Are School Lunches Really Healthy For You? Imagine going to school and thinking, oh boy what am I going to have for lunch today? And all of the sudden you see something you don’t like, so you don’t eat it and then your stomach starts to growl.
Preamble: When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for students to choose what and where they prefer to eat at school during lunchtime. It is required that they must explain why and for what reasons they want an open campus. They must write a Declaration of Independence due to the fact that they prefer to risk their health when having an open campus for lunch. Declaration: We hold these truths to be self evident, that all students are created equal like administration and we have the right to choose if we want to be healthy at our own expense without anyone interfering with our own choices of our everyday meals.
The principal is trying to change school lunch menu's to healthier meals. I strongly believe that this is a good idea to change the lunches because of the following reasons: healthier meals makes kids grow big and strong, it gives you more energy to move around, and it taste delicious. Schools all around should consider changing their lunches for the better of their student. This is for the better of the student to have healthy food. I will go into greater detail in the following paragraphs.
Some people may argue that school lunches are not healthy enough and need to be changed to foods that are more nutritious.
In conclusion schools should not change the lunches because they don't have the power to tell students can or can't eat, they don't have the time and money, and finally because they are not allowed to put a limit on how much a student can eat due to the “No Kid Hungry
If if we 're to change one thing in my community I would change the school lunches because they need to be healthier and taste awful. At the onset, the lunches should not have processed foods because they are full of chemicals that can harm the body. Some of the most popular chemicals are: Sodium Benzoate, Butylated hydroxide, and Butlate hydroxytoluene, canthaxanthin, olestra, high fructose corn syrup, mono sodium Glut amate, partially hydrogenated oils, Potassium bromate, and sodium nitrate. Sodium Benzoate is a chemical combined with sodium hydroxide and benzoin acid. Butylated hydroxanisole keeps the oils in the foods from oxidizing.
To begin with, the taste alone of school lunches is beyond unsatisfactory. The meals provided by public schools are not appetizing. There exists a tangible disconnect between the enticing, nutritious meals advertised on the school board’s menus and what the students actually receive—pathetic portions and lukewarm meals slapped onto a tray. Children’s complaints about school lunches are often seen as trite. However, while common, they are not any less accurate.
Imagine a school that has multiple healthy school food options, that is worth standing in line for. I think that all schools should have a healthy school lunch. It's very important to have nutritious school lunches so that we can be healthy and have energy during the school day. I think we should have better and healthier school menus. Our school menus are very high in cholesterol and saturated fat.
