Even in the open sea there are accidents that refer to underground oil or to the lubricants and combustion residues where used and then put into the sea. In addition, enormous environmental consequences arise because the seas are polluted by petroleum and petroleum products. For example, Oil with its entry into the sea is transported by winds, currents, waves and tides. The various physical and chemical processes that take place such as dispersion, evaporation, dissolution, emulsification, uptake by organisms and sedimentation are constantly changing the composition of oil spills. It is believed that oil-rich oils are more toxic, while major damage to ecosystems is also caused by light fractions such as diesel oil and gasoline that are more soluble in water. Soluble and finely dispersed fractions give a strong odor to the water and neutralize the odor of natural substances by inhibiting the reproduction of organisms.
