Most importantly, another perspective comes from an actual contestant in a pageant. Li Lingbo, a Harvard student who participated in Miss USA in 2010, kept track of her experiences through her blog, telling her readers: “ I’m beautiful the way I am! No, honestly, I am. I hadn’t really believed it, but it finally seemed like the truth” ( Lingbo). Lingbo Finally accepts herself and the way she looks;
In some period, she was called as “hermaphrodite” because of her crazy appearances. However, she denied that and she always felt like a woman. She was interested in Metal, rock’ n’ roll, pop and electronic music and one of her album was created based on these concepts. From the first day of publication of her album, she got very nice comments from her fans and by selling a million copies and in its first week, the album field has achieved great success. Also, I want to add that Gaga’s family life is a factor that affects her development.
Her life started out with a rough patch. Nevertheless, her mental health issues and problems at home didn’t stop her from living her life to the fullest. She went on to receive a Teen Choice Award as well as a Grammy nomination. Now, she has dealt with her own personal issues and released a new album. All this information is important because it shows you that not all stars just care about fame and money.
I believe that this is a great accomplishment that she achieved and was able to share her stories to her audience about her childhood when she was growing up. Beside the Oprah show and her life for books, she was also a great actress. She was in many great movies and television shows, such as the Color Purple and The Women of Brewster Place
For the first 1 months of my life neonatal intensive care unit with my two nurses Peggy and Jane. When I was first born I have a grade one intraventical brain bleed on one side of my head and a grade two Intraventical brain bleed on the other side. The doctors told my parents that this could effect my movement and not my learning. I went through Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy for several months. The doctors were
Despite having a downfall in 2010 when she went to rehab to deal with an eating disorder, addictions and mental illnesses, Demi Lovato rose up from the ashes and has now become a powerhouse in the music industry, joining fellow ex-Disney stars, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez. Demi is not afraid to speak out about her struggles, with becoming a strong advocate of shedding off the stigmatizations of mental illnesses and spokesperson towards promoting self-love and confidence, so much so that she also discusses such strong topics in her music. With her new album, Confident, she does not fail to portray how far she has come and grown as a person. Compared to her previous albums, Confident feels truer to Demi’s personality. The songs in Confident are more consistent throughout the whole album with the theme she
I have watched a lot of inspiring movies and I would say that Temple Grandin is the most striking. This movie revolves around a woman named, Temple Grandin, who became successful despite having limitations due to her autism. She graduated as college valedictorian and she also completed her Ph.D. Furthermore, the movie also shows the importance of moral support and understanding to the persons with autism for their consolation and feeling of relief. I commend the movie for effectively showing how a person with autism or disability like Temple Grandin could overcome her limitations and eventually become successful.
I did nursing assistant to take care of my disabled mother who passed away from cancer. It was a side job taking care of her while I worked in technology. Through this certification process, I learned a lot about outpatient care. I had the opportunity to work for Kindred hospital to gain the maximum experience to use for the care of my mother. After her death, I got more interested in pharmacy because the medication had prolonged her life and when the medication was cut on her because insurance did not cover her she passed away.
Women directors are talking over the industry by storm giving us some of the most memorable films in the past decade. Be it masala blockbuster maker Farah khan or Gauri Shinde who made the beautiful ‘English Vinglish’ that touched our hearts—the films made by each one of them have been entertainers. The Hindi film industry has seen a lot of female filmmakers who have challenged the otherwise male dominated B-town. We’re not choosing to celebrate these women just because they’re women in the business – we are celebrating them because they are each uniquely talented, determined, creative people, who are collectively forging a path in this industry for more talented and creative women to follow . They are challenging the rules of the bollywood boy’s club, and making some excellent cinema too.
However, there was another part of me (my sister who loves this saga) was telling me that everything was going to be okay. So, I matriculated, and I spent the entire break being laughed by my sister, telling me that I should know who shot first because they were going to mention it in class. While watching, and analyzing the fan base and meaning of the films, I finally understood why people were so captivated by it. Star Wars was groundbreaking cinema, just like Avatar was for 3D movies. The casting of the films was phenomenal, especially with Harrison Ford (who continues to play cult classic characters) and Carrie Fisher (one of my favorite feminist role model).
