Nicholas Carr in his essay, "Is Google Making Us Stupid?”, gives a serious warming to the negative impact to people’s brains which is caused by the overmuch using of the Internet. First of all, Carr states the common phenomenon in using the Internet to be a resource which regards almost any information. In addition, Carr expresses that the convenience in using the Internet is destroying our independence in reading, writing and working and make us be accustomed to do any things relying on the Internet. Beato claims that 3 to 6 percent of internet users are addicted, and “we check our emails more often than necessary.” Over the coming years, internet addiction may grow more than any other addiction because of the constant improvement of technology if we do not act. I disagree with Beato because the fact is,
Nicholas Carr wrote this essay to let the upcoming generations know about the danger effect of the Internet overuse by using ethos, logos, and pathos and also some other rhetorical strategies. He starts his essay with a scene that was takin by Stanley Kubrick’s A in 2001: A Space Odyssey at the end of the paragraph saying, “I can feel it.’’ And after that he started his next paragraph with the same words, “I can feel it.’’

As the World progresses, technology has always been a part of it, if not ahead. I for one, have grown up in a time where the use of technology has been intertwined in the society. Since technological advancements began a while ago, the newer generation of children has access to it with ease than those who came before them. This then does arise some concerns about the effect of technology on younger generations. Just like with other controversial topics, there are some negative sides to technology as well as positive sides.
