Self-Authorship has different aspects of our lives reflected. These include how and who we learn from at young ages to an adult. Some ways in which we learn are from our parents, grandparents, and teachers. In order to have a self-authored life we must set goals for our education and how we define success. Also, each person possess different strengths which can relate to the eight competencies taught at George Mason University. My strengths are includer, empathy, responsibility, context, and learning. The eight competencies are communication, critical thinking, group collaboration, global understanding, civic engagement, digital literacy, aesthetic awareness, and well-being. Due to the fact that I did not come from a rich family, it took some time to obtain assistance to get the education I have always wanted. Attending George Mason University allows me to obtain a degree to pursue a career I am passionate about. There are a few things I would like to learn from this class which are better communication skills, hands on learning, the ability to rain knowledge, how to become a successful student I hope attending this college will open my life up to new experiences.. Mason offers many hands on learning activities which can better your career versus just attending lecture and taking notes. I also would like Since I was eight years old, I knew I wanted to become an elementary teacher for several reasons. One of which is because I love the atmosphere of school and the role of the teacher. At such young ages children look to the teachers to grow and obtain a future. I myself being a teacher is being someone’s’ somebody. I would want to be that teacher whose students want to come to class everyday no matter what their circumstance. My grandmother has always been a big influence in my life and my backbone to where I stand
Linda Laidlaw and Suzanna So-har Wong wrote an article which addressed the difficulties found on the personal writing assignments. By using interviews and focus-groups date, Linda and Suzanna got to the conclusion that such assignments are challenging for students that come from diverse cultural background, families or life history. Many elementary teachers ask their students to share information about themselves or their lives. By using personal narrative, teachers assign her/his students to do projects such as “write about yourself”, “All about me”, “When I was born”, etc, which have created a problem for those parents and students that do not share the same cultural background or family’s composition.
One of the benefits of Self-Authorship is to allow students to discover who they are, and allow them to make life decisions without outside influences. This advising theory assists with allowing students to identify who they are, what they want to be, and where they would like to go. These psychosocial developmental challenges also include undergoing personal struggles with oneself. This model is closely related to that of Arthur Chickering, who also believed that college students go through developmental stages that require them to think, feel, behave, and value oneself. (Chickering & Reisser, 1993).
What are your two strengths and what is your weakness? My two greatest strengths are my communication and problem solving skills. I excel at understanding customer needs and motivations, and using this insight to tailor selling points, to understand potential obstacles, and to devise effective solutions. My greatest weakness has been the difficult I have in declining additional work assignments.
The first strength is that I believe that I am a great listener. I have always felt that it is my nature to listen to what others have to say and then offer my input
Strengths I am believe I am passionate about my future career in social work and I am also a lifelong learner. I am a great listener and I have been told that I am great at understanding and easy to talk to people when they have a problem. I am always asking questions and is eager to learn and understand others in life.
Self-Reflection I feel like my strength as a writer would be creativity. I can come up with a story about pretty much anything from things that could actually happen to things that are completely impossible. Another strength of mine would be my love for writing. I love writing so much that although sometimes I feel like a failure, I won’t let myself give up on it. My weaknesses though, now that is a long line.

I loved being with children and helping them learn and grow. When I graduated High School I got a job at a Daycare, which I still work at today. That was when I really knew that being a teacher was the ultimate goal and I was determined to make it happen.
All individuals possess a set of strengths and weaknesses. Many are developed naturally while others need to be taught. I believe one of my biggest strengths being an extravert, which is characterized by sociability, talkativeness and assertiveness (oop.com). These strengths have been apparent to me from a young age and are a positive asset directly related to my communication skills. Having an adult son with a developmental disability has taught me how to effectively communicate for services on his behalf.
MY other strength I have in my resume is taking advanced classes I have took so far seven honors classes and finished them all with decent grades. I am also advanced in math I am taking pre-calculus honors and hopefully next year I hope to take calculus. With all these advanced classes I could get a better understanding of math and do very well in college. Like my resume had strengths it also had weaknesses, my major weakness
Strengths and Weaknesses In the process of professional practice, I realized that my strength is working hard. Whenever I get a task from my boss, I would not stop working until it is done. Hard working is the best and surest way to arrive to goals and it can help me to complete the work in a given time. Another strength is the problem solving ability, which enables me to recognize the problem, analyze the relevant information, understand reasons and impact relationships and choose the best solution to solve the problem.

My personal strengths are that I am a dedicated student as well as never giving up. For me, I love being involved in things that makes a difference in our community and our school, that is why I am in an abundant amount of community service clubs. I am always consistent and not doing things last minute or just because it looks good on college apps. I do it because it means something to me and that I want to make a difference. Sometimes, there are times in my life that I am not able to handle the things on my plate, but I am resilient and able to pick myself back up on my own.
My other strength is that when I 'm with my family I love to hear them laugh because their laugh just gets me in a good mood. Something I can do really well is take care of babies I love children I 'm really good with them.
