Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless-Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage, are the core values we live and breathe as American Soldiers. We must not forget or become laxed because these values are the backbone to the Army and are foundational truths to our success. As Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) we will reprioritize our conduct, in order for these values to resignate home within us. As Professional Soldiers, we must remember why we remain disciplined and faithful at all times, Therefore, despite what we feel, we must hold true to obedience, and at the right time our fruits will unveil.
There are many different perspectives on what the American dream is, but usually most of them include the thought of being happy and having a perfect life, which isn't always the case. Unfortunately some peoples American dreams have turned to nightmares. The American Dream is a set of ideals that include liberty, equality, and democracy. Langston Hughes and John McCain both agree that we should be able to feel free and take pride in our country, even when our country and the people in it treat us badly. I believe that all people should be treated as equals and should be proud to live in our country, not constantly cowering in fear.
It showed that people can defend their country simply by saving lives instead of killing and that it is possible to maintain a belief, not let others undermine your faith, and be an exceptional, courageous human being even under extreme peer pressure, which is a problem in today’s society. The way Desmond was treated and the military’s response to him being a “conscientious objector” infuriated me; he proved through his actions that conscientious objectors are just as beneficial as any other soldier, maybe even more in Desmond Ross’s case. I think that the term conscientious objector is very demeaning and should not be the term that describes Desmond or other men like him; I believe, like Desmond stated himself, that they should be designated as conscientious cooperators, because just because they hold certain beliefs they are not objecting to serve their country. I have not seen the movie Hacksaw
I have many personal values that I have maintained throughout middle school. These personal values have helped me get through middle school, and helped with many various things on my journey to middle school. My first personal value that I’ve maintained is my religion. This is a very important personal value to me, because it is what I believe in.
As not stated previously, what can make a cause good, and worthy of being loyal? He must have a personal value towards it, love it, and as well be pleased with the cause. However, his emotion of love for the cause never defines loyalty. It also never means to follow your own desire. The cause has to not only be about your private self, but it should include a view by you as something outside of you.
So they did not want the monarchy in having a say in what they do. Nevertheless, they still appreciated the protection from hostile neighbors, that the monarchy provided. An example of this was in King Williams was where they won and thus giving them a sense of military
This is what the National Honor Society hopes for in a member. I know i’m not perfect and can make mistakes at times, but acknowledging that takes a lot of character. My academic achievements are a result of my determination and drive to ensure that i’ll be able to achieve success in the future as well as serve as role model to the younger siblings and cousins in my family. Getting good grades is a priority to me. Having a XX GPA and being a Distinguished Varsity Scholar for the past 3 years didn 't happen by luck, it happened because of the sheer dedication I have towards my school and
Marcus and Charlie are great characters to compare to myself for many reasons such as the way they value friendship, personalities, and
Which makes me all the more determined to make sure that I keep that kind of love and support around myself at all times. What those athletes demonstrated to me is the kind of power there is in surrounding yourself in an atmosphere where love thrives above all else. Hence, I am grateful for my gift of discernment, which has helped me weed out some of the toxic people in my life. Maintaining healthy boundaries is an ongoing process for me, but there is no love or nobility in allowing others to mistreat me, no matter how "good" their intentions or the explanations they provide me. When what a person says does not match what they do, it is always the action that leaves the deepest impression because actions always speak louder than
While Nick emphasizes the importance of hard work, he also values integrity to achieve his goals. In The Great Gatsby, Nick describes himself as “one of the few honest people that I have ever known” (Gatsby 59). Compulsive liars desire to get ahead of people through their manipulative words, but Nick understands the moral perspective and sees that the only way to flourish as a person is to remain sincere.
Shortly after talking about how the two are different, he began to show how the two generals were similar in their determination and fervor to fight. Throughout the essay, the author, Bruce Catton, is able to keep a very neutral tone. He never picks a side which I think is very important in a compare and contrast essay. It is the most fair way to display information to a reader since there is no bias and opinion getting in the way of the facts at hand.
Being assured that my family is okay is very important to me and to know that they are safe as long as I am there. It would also mean that I cannot fight for my country or the freedom of it. Helping my country can prevent the worsening conditions of taxation and people being put in prisons for having their own beliefs. I have decided to re-enlist for
I will understand my unit 's mission and my commander 's intent. I will anticipate manpower needs and maintain the fighting strength of my commander 's force. I will strive to integrate personnel services that best support my commander 's operation at every stage of execution. I will provide continuous personnel service support operations during build-up, surge, and combat operations. I will provide rapid and responsive support in all situations.
Working in the field of law enforcement and being ethically sound is important. It is important within our professional career that we are able to maintain a standard that doesn’t cross any ethical lines. Even in our academic we have to hold ourselves to an ethical standard, because we are trusted to do what is right. If we violate the academic integrity it put a mark on our ability to be trusted. Just as Dr. Steven Davis stated if someone is will to cheap to get ahead how can they be trusted
We moved back closer to my home town, Tulare, and sat under my father’s leadership at my home church. We filled various positions in our time there, such as, leading the youth, singing on the praise team, and again cleaning the church from time to time. We have had a lot of ups and downs over the years, but one thing I can always count on is that gentle reminder that God gives me to remember why I started. God knew exactly what He was doing while we were at the church in Tulare. He was giving us time to relax from life’s stresses, heal from its wounds, and refocus on our eyes on Him and his plan for our future.
