• In the beginning of trying to set career goals you will not have any idea where you want to reach for. Even if you would have ideas they will be vague and will lack clarity. So, expect that. • Even if your career goals are set for professional achievements, make sure that they are your personal goals. What we mean by that is don't set any career goals because you think people around you want these things from you.
No-one plans a journey by starting from somewhere other than where they are, so you need to be very clear about the reality of your current situation. Awareness of yourself and your present situation will give you a good starting point for you to start setting clear, specific and actionable career goals that will move you forward from where you are right now. First of all, write down some notes about yourself. What are your values? What do you enjoy doing?
Well, setting goals is important for a number of different reasons, the most prominent one being the fact that when a person has goals in their life, they know where the finish line is and they know what they need to do in order to reach it. There are an extremely large number of goals in the average person’s life. Some of the goals in the typical person’s life are easy; others, not so
These are things that will help me succeed in my career and make my life a lot easier. Making sure that tasks are done at work and accomplishing them on time might mean a promotion, a gift, or even an increase in pay. This goal fits in with the rest of my life because it does not just go for homework and school but every day I live. I want to do things ahead of time which gives me more time for myself, family, and friends. This goal fits into my career due to all the responsibilities I will have on the job.
“The ultimate reason for setting goals is to entice you to become the person it takes to achieve them.”(Jim Rohn). It is important to have goals because it can focus my acquisition of knowledge, and helps you to organize your time and resources to make the most of your life. Some examples include getting a job, having a family, being a successful business person, becoming famous, etc. It is also important to have goals because it can motivate you and keep you active. One important goal for me is to go to college so I can have a good education, become more social, and find something I want to do when I grow up.
Setting your goals gives you clarity on what you ultimately want. It makes you crystallize and articulate the desires floating in your mind. It ensures that you are channeling your time, energy and efforts into things that really matter to you. It makes you live more consciously. Nothing is certain, but in five years from now I to want to be finishing Law school, I want to have a car and I hope that in this close future I still be friend of my high school’s friends.
When defining goals, it is important to make sure that these goals are right for you, considering the factors around you. You should make sure that these goals are not only feasible and realistic, but also immediately actionable. Setting the right goals will actually make it easy to remember them and always keep them in mind. Two other important factors to be put into consideration are your personality and the nature of the goal you’re pursuing. Most times, people make the mistake of choosing goals because they saw these goals being achieved by others without putting in mind the approach and mindset that the other person actually put into achieving that goal.
Not only do I make a goal for my academics, but I also construct a personal goal by vowing to read a Tale of Two Cities before I graduate as well. Furthermore, these two goals lead to my ultimate dream. Consequently, I have a career goal that is set for a span of ten years, which already reveals me graduating from college, becoming a history teacher in a high school, and obtaining a bachelor’s degree in anthropology. Moreover, by succeeding in these goals, I can begin to make my dreams come true and fashion a life I can be proud. Pursuing five scholarships before graduating from high school, I believe, will aid me in paying for college and establishing a positive goal for me.
It’s not easy achieving goals it actually a trial and error. When I don’t succeed I won’t give up instead I will stand up and try again. The three goals are going to benefit me and once I accomplish them I will be the person I want to be. The way I see it is if I try hard and achieve my goal then it will bring me happiness and determination to make more goals. My 30 day goal I will accomplish is getting A and Bs.
This is my goal for college because I want to be the best I can be and challenge myself to be at the top.I just want to make sure my family is proud of me and I know I have done something I should be proud of for putting my blood, sweat, and tears into. Steps that I have taken is that I am in early college and in honors/dual credit classes. To reach my goals, steps I still need to take is to graduate high school, keep up with my all of my classes, and keep up with my grades by staying on track. Important tips to help me throughout college to reach my goal is to be organized, find a quiet place to study, and attend all classes. To be organized is important to me because if I am not organized and my surroundings are messy then I would not be able to focus on what I need to do.
