Since I knew about and understood greek mythology, I really enjoyed the series because of how they incorporated many aspects of the mythology and added an enjoyable twist to the already known story of the Greek gods. Chapter 1 The five aspects to quest are a quester, a place to go, a stated reason to go, challenges and trials, and the real reason to go. When thinking of a quester, I immediately thought of Ash from Pokemon. Ash goes on a journey with his Pokemon (quester) to try to become the best battler of all time (stated
The book was well written and really made you think about what happened during WW2. The movie was also good because it showed you what things looked like and gave you some imagery for each character. I would say I liked the book better but it might be because I read the book first. When I read a book and enjoy it then watch the movie and see all the differences it annoys me that they made it after the movie but it isn’t like the book in so many ways and I really enjoyed the book. Still I would recommend the book and movie to anyone older than 10 because it gets a little grotesque in some parts, but it was still a good movie/book with a good plot and was very enjoyable to read/watch.
The award winning novel the Outsiders is a true wake up call to society regarding concepts that have been present in society over the years. The story is looked at in the point of view of the east side, the lower class or in this case the greasers. The novel has received recognition by winning several awards such as: the New York tribune best teenage book list in 1967, the Chicago tribune book world spring book festival honor book also in 1967, the ALA best young adult books in 1975, and then later on won the Massachusetts children book award in 1979. The story takes place in Tulsa, Oklahoma where the author was raised. The author was 15 when she started writing the book but wrote most of it when she was 16, however the book was published when she was 18.
Betty Crocker's beginnings: Back in the day, during 1921, the world was a lot different than today. Warren G. Harding was the 29th President of the United States, the country had formally ended World War I, and the country's first Miss America was crowned as sixteen-year old, Margaret Gorman won Atlantic City Pageant's Golden Mermaid trophy. Meanwhile, at the same time elsewhere in the country...a promotion for Gold Medal flour was underway offering its' consumers a pincushion resembling a flour sack if they correctly completed a
Just the thought of being shipped off to be dismantled scares anyone. The realism of this book is my favorite part. The author did a very good job of making you feel like you are actually living inside of the story and watching Connor and Risa's journey. After you are done reading this story you will be baffled at the amount of thrill in it. If you like a slightly twisted, disturbing story this is the book for
Hatshepsut as a pharaoh of Egypt from roughly 1479 to 1458 BCE. She not only had the long west reign of any Egyptian female, but is also regarded as one of the most successful rulers in Egyptian history. Under Hatshepsut, Egypt explored, built, and grew. Hatshepsut had many achievements, but the greatest of them all was being the first female pharaoh of Egypt to have full powers during the 18th dynasty when there was great opposition against the women leadership. She was the daughter of King Thutmose I and took over leadership after the death of her husband and step-brother, Thutmose.
The author used Michelle Obama a number of times to compare to Princess Tiana in the movie: As others point out, the reality of the first African- American president and First Family in the United States of America made the moment of Disney’s first African American princess even more boldly pronounced. In fact, some likened First Lady Michelle Obama especially as she entered the various galas on January 2009 Inauguration night, to the political and
The way that this film shows us a more intimate part of Amy is they start it with a home film. The home film that started the mood of the film was when she was in Southgate, North London in the year 1998. She was the age 14 exactly in that film singing happy birthday. One’s instant thought to the film is that it’s going to be happy, even though everyone knows that Winehouse died of alcoholism at the age of 27 in the year 2011. After the first scene known as the intro Kapadia goes into with “Moon River” then a dialogue said by the one and only Amy Winehouse mentioning her inspirations that inspired her to sing, mostly all jazz
In the list of the world’s most watched fairy tales, Cinderella is of no exception. Over the years, seven hundred versions of Cinderella have been created all over the world in different languages (Kelley, 1994). In the 19th century, the first written form of the story was published in China. However, a modern version of Cinderella collated in France in 1697 by Charles Perrault (Williams, 2016) has become very popular in the United States (Kelley, 1994). Based on Perrault’s version, Walt Disney created a full-length animation of Cinderella in 1950 (History.com Staff, 2009).
The idea of the movie is not only to inform the viewer of Harry Porter’s dilemma but also to convince the viewer that there is more to him than just an orphan with nothing left to live for. In the Harry Potter movies, the concepts of friendship, determination, treachery, and good over evil are still well-known with new casts bringing new ideas and twists to the plot. The main character Harry Potter was played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson was Hermione Granger and Rupert Grint was Ron Weasley. They form a great trio of friendship in these movies. The performance of every character in the movies was marvelous.
Besides Felix being in this story, I really like the way you’re approaching this story. Nathanael 's alter ego makes me laugh because I always imagined him to be a smartass if he ever became a hero. And I’m glad someone has finally wrote him like that. As for Nino, I don’t know how I feel about him yet. I think I’ll have to wait and see what happens with him in the future.
Such as, you don’t have to face things alone, which is shown in the book when Valerie gets support from friends and Dr. Heiler. Also, that bullying can really affect someone, which is also shown in the book because bullying lead to the hate list. Lastly, forgiveness is key when living your life, which is shown throughout the whole book by Valerie because she must overcome the guilt she has. I would rate this book a for sure 10/10. This book is definitely on the list of the top books I have ever read, but my all time favorite book is “The Fault In Our Stars”, and “Hate List” comes very close to it.
My Nana was born around ten o 'clock at night. Her mother, father and grandmother were all present at her birth. She is most definitely the most talkative out of the three of her siblings. I was born on July 27, 1999 in Winston Salem. I was delivered at Forsyth County Hospital.
