Seventh grade has changed me in every way. It has both changed me mentally and physically. I’ve had to sacrifice sleep and time to finish assignments, i 've had to stay up late to study, i 've had to become mentally and emotionally strong to get through rough days, i 've had to go out for a run to practice stamina, i’ve had to learn how to fit within the crowd but also never forget who i was. Going threw the seventh grade has made me more mature and made me more cautious of my decisions. Coming into the seventh grade I had no clue how it was going to be because my elementary didn 't prepare us, but I knew that it was a new chapter in my life and there was going to be a lot of challenges and hard decisions. This school year isn 't over yet but the seven months that I have been in the seventh grade I learned that nothing is more important than finishing your homework and getting all your assignments in. I also learned to never wait until the last second to do assignments. Seventh grade has been a great experience and a big challenge but I 'm glad I got to finish the year strong and confident.
In high school, I hope to be an A+ student in language arts and to continually grow. I have grown very much as a reader and writer in language arts. From 6th grade too now I have learned new things and have grown becoming better in language arts. I learned my strengths and weaknesses in reading and writing. Which helped me get better in language arts. I have many goals for myself in language arts that I hope to complete by the end of the year.In my life, my mom loved to read. When she was little so she gave me book recommendations that she liked which helped me learn to love to read. Reading and writing also come with accomplishments and struggles along the way but in time you improve and become better.
Commitment and hard work can pay off for you in school in many ways. Those two things for me brought me to Six Flags Great America for a class field trip. In order for the students to go on the field trip they had to earn a 3.0 GPA or better. For me, this was really hard to accomplish because I was only an average student back then. As time went on in school, I realized if you put your mind to something you can accomplish it. Earning the 3.2 GPA that took me to Six Flags was a goal that I had achieved. Going to Six Flags was an awesome trip that I will remember for the rest of my life.
My short term goals consist of the goals I want to achieve in my years of middle school. Since I am in my eighth grade year, I would like to achieve high grades for my last year of middle school. To achieve this, I will have to apply myself for quizzes, test, and any assignments coming up. I will also have to study for any quiz or test, because those are usually worth many points. Finally, to achieve high grades, I just have to enjoy school. I believe that if you don’t want to be there, you can’t achieve anything in that environment.
Through the years I was able to develop into a motivated individual. As I found myself feeling more compassionate towards other people, the less I cared how they viewed me. I learned to love school. I started to make friends became an active student in the school community. Confidence is the key to academic success. My greatest academic achievement is becoming a member of the National Honor Society. When i entered middle school, I wanted to play sports with my friends. That year I tried out for the soccer, basketball, volleyball, and softball team. I excelled in these sports and as a result, I learned to push myself and take risks. Without confidence a team could not exist. I stayed in church school until I was in tenth grade, and that year I received the sacrament of Confirmation. I was able to do this without feeling alone. I refused to let my shyness take me over.
3. Growing Up: Growing up is the process of becoming more mature and wise. As people get older, they begin to see the world in new ways and use past experiences to shape their decisions. The process of growing continuously adds more stress to lives, while simultaneously adding better rewards.
The first day of middle school for me was both terrifying and exciting. I made a lot of new friends within the year. I remember the first day very well. I had woke up at 5;30 a.m. I was extremely tired. All i wanted was to throw my alarm clock across the room and sleep for the rest of the day. I could smell my mom making breakfast, it was pancakes my favorite. I finally got up after smelling that. While I was getting ready, was kinda excited to be in the sixth grade. I was finally in middle school. However, I was also extremely scared. I was thinking about how my classes would go? Are my teachers nice? Am I gonna have classes with my friends? After I ate breakfast, I got in the car with my mom and met up with my best friend Kalliee so we could at least walk in together because we didn 't have any classes together.
I have learned that i am not as familiar with the computer programs as i thought. I am also feeling
The teachers liked at the beginning of the year and the ones I like now are totally different. Mr. Gronewold I’ve always been close with because of being a wrestling manager. Mr. Belkin I thought I would be his favorite because he is really close with my brother and I’ve known him since kindergarten. Mr. Knights I hated at the beginning of the year, but I realized he wasn’t that bad. Ms. Hageman I thought was okay and we’ve had our ups and downs. Some teacher could be the best people you will ever meet and some can be the worst.
As a young aspiring musician in middle school, I wanted to start a band desperately. Instead, I was known as Emerson Middle School 's’ music freak. I posted flyers in businesses around my hometown and online ads. I wanted to be like Amy Lee from Evanescence terribly, but my taste in music was different than most people. When my fellow classmates heard about my compositions and ideas, they thought it was a joke. At first when my classmates told me that they wanted to be in my band, I was overjoyed. I thought that I would be able to have a group to perform and collaborate with in compositions. After a month, my classmates told me it was a joke, and they thought I knew about it. I was heartbroken, but I knew that I needed to be in an environment
It is my Senior year, and I have accomplished a few great things so far. I have been in Honors math courses since Freshman year; I took an AP course and I got a three on the exam, which will be enough to earn college credits at some colleges I am looking at. I also got invited to National Honor Society last year, and I am in it this year as well. I have a lot of things I want to accomplish before the end of my last year at Old Orchard Beach High School and hopefully during this quarter.
In the Dominican Republic, we had a wall called El Cuadro de Honor, the wall of honor. From first grade to fourth grade, my photograph and name was always on it. I loved being a student. I was excited to go to school each morning. The maestra, the teacher, taught us lengua española, ciencias naturales, ciencias sociales, matemáticas. After the morning classes, we would go into the backyard, which had a big field and a playground. There, we ate the ham and cheese or chicken sandwiches and drank the fresh fruit juices we bought from the lunch ladies.
Lots of people say that middle school is hard, has lots of responsibilities and you have to be on time for everything. Then I thought there weren 't serious till I actually went to middle school myself. Soon after elementary I went to a middle school that I went to was called Lincoln middle school, it wasn’t a big school, but it was a decent school. When I first went into that building I was excited to make new friends and meet my teacher, but then this lady that was the 6th grade dean(consular) gave me this piece of paper that had many classes on it and I ask her “why there are so many classes?” she says “Because that how middle school works”.After words I went to my first class which was math and the math teacher told me and the class that
My plan for academic literacy improvement has progressed nicely this study period. Although, I understand this will be a long process - as mentioned in Grellier and Goerke (2014), the best way to develop your reading and writing skills is to do hours of exercise - each minuet step I take to improve will be beneficial. Even with my hectic life schedule, I have managed to implement all the strategies mentioned in Assessment one.
Academic success to me is achieving good grades and understanding the material to get good grades. Academic success also means to have an good attendance. I already get mostly A’s and B’s, but I am not good at staying on top of things. To improve my academic success I will attend class more often, be more organized, pay attention in class, and not procrastinate.
