The pressure was on the other seniors and me to try harder to make our last competition count and finally receive that state qualifying superior rating. After a stressful week of practice, I called the other six seniors together and we finally came up for a plan to change the attitude of the entire band before it was too late. My plan was that if we became a family, the way we were in past years, we would be inspired to work our best, not only to benefit ourselves but also to benefit each other. And the plan worked, that week the other seniors and I worked hard to be role models for everyone, and raise morale. It was the last competition of the normal season that finally those months of hard work from everyone paid off and we finally were awarded a superior rating and qualified for state
During the second semester, through faith in God, and my determination to succeed, I worked hard to bring my increase my G.P.A and took advantage of the resources provided by Xavier, including, the writing center, tutors, and office hours, which helped me perform better and at the end of the semester, I received a 3.7 G.PA . I have maintained a high G.P.A since that day and even received a 4.0 in the previous multiple semesters. In addition, I made it my mission to retake some of the courses that I performed poorly in and earned an A grade in all of them. I have earned mostly A’s and some B’s in my college years, multiple dean’s list recognition, academic honors, and a cumulative 3.745/4.000 G.P.A. This not only shows my growth as a student but also shows my potential to succeed in Law
Managing, the academic demands this semester while attending school, for myself has been great. However, balancing classes of course at times seems to have been very challenging. Reasonable management has been one of my biggest factors with a few of the classes I’ve taken. One class, this semester Phil 383T comforting the materials and topics discussed in class focusing on the different aspects of Technology, technology used in the past, today and later in the future has been great yet, at times challenging. Now this semester is about to come to an end, I’m come a long way, have had great progress to get to this point, so proud to say how happy I am to obtain the information I’ve obtained and read while attending class Phil 383T this semester.
Having participated in this program last semester, I was both excited and hesitant to return. I was excited because of all the great people I met and valuable things I learned; but I was hesitant because I didn’t know what to expect out of another seven sessions. Last semester’s program taught me to self-reflect on my past to help guide my future, but this semester helped me to guide my future or at least try to plan for it. One of my first big A-Ha moments in this program was with Mark Trumbo. Taking the time to write out people, places, things, and memories I couldn’t live without along with goals I have for my life, showed me what is truly important.
The most well-known benefit of year-round schools is the high amount of retention that their students’ posses. This would make sense because instruction at a year-round school is constant. In traditional schools, after students return from summer break, it takes approximately 10 to 15 days for teachers to bring their students back up to speed (Klien). In year-round schools, teachers rarely have to use any school hours to reteach material (Klien). This means, with traditional schools there is time wasted at the beginning of the year relearning the prior year’s material.
Community Service What Community Service means to me is that you are providing jobs for an organization who wanted you to completed the jobs that has been assign to you and needs to be done in a timely manner . The organization will reward you with Community Service hours for graduation requirement or if you are in National Junior Honor Society you're need more community service hour than the rest of the high schoolers but for non NJHS members in order to graduation you need to have at least 20 hour of Community service hours. I have completed the community services hour by 27 hours of Community service that is on my high school transcript and hoping for more before the end of my senior year.I think the importance of community service is what are you doing to help change the community in a positive way. The community Service activity that I had an opportunity was to volunteering to donate my time to help pass out dinners to the resident at a local senior facility in do so
According to the Web site collegeresults.org, only 23.6 % of the students attending Old Dominion University are graduating in four years. This rate of graduation is demoralizing because I have a plan to succeed and graduate from ODU. From these results, I understand that I have to work hard and take my studies very seriously in each subject of every semester. Because a college education offers many benefits, I will be a successful student by obtaining expert advice, by developing effective strategies, and by overcoming my challenges. Psychology Professor Robert S. Feldman explains the benefits of a college education in my ENF textbook (29-31).
This is a really massive tool when it comes to planning your own future success. Constructing smart goals can make a positive effect on not only your organization but also your future. If you create a long term goal that starts freshman year and continue to do it until senior year, you’ll be more motivated to do the task and possibly be able to see a drastic difference in your success ( depending on the task). Also, compared to the evidence provided in the article “ Ninth grade: the most important year of high school” a program that is able to help the struggling children with setting goals and having aids available made the 9th grade dropout rates
With completing the third semester in practicum placement, I was able to benefit from a variety of new things from the class. The placement gave me the opportunity to refresh my memory and skills in what I have learnt two semesters ago. My biggest huddle for this semester was my time management. I am a procrastinator, so completing assignments on time was and still is a challenge for me. I have not come to a full solution to this problem yet, but I did make changes in my life as to how I can manage time management.

What learning activity or emotional response most took me by surprise during the last two weeks? The emotional response that took me by surprise during the last two weeks was the feeling of achieving the goals from the program. Even if we still need to make few changes to our presentation as per Stephanie’s suggestion. I feel that my learning experience during the whole MSBI program and especially during the practicum has already reached its maximum level, with the completion of our presentation. However, I have mixed feelings; satisfaction of being able to complete the program, but at the same time, fears for the oncoming presentation event.
Kyle Kling 14 October 2014 English 100-24 Professor Hall Academics to Six Flags Commitment and hard work can pay off for you in school in many ways. Those two things for me brought me to Six Flags Great America for a class field trip. In order for the students to go on the field trip they had to earn a 3.0 GPA or better. For me, this was really hard to accomplish because I was only an average student back then. As time went on in school, I realized if you put your mind to something you can accomplish it.
As summer came I wanted to make right choices so I decided to call the school and ask for the regaitor and I asked what I can do for me to make my credits up for my junior year and she told me that there where correspondence classes I can take but it costed money but for me an my family had put money into the corresponding classes and I got it an I have and I 'm trying to finish it so I can walk the line. My senior year came and I was ready to start the year fresh an make it smooth with getting my classes together and getting all my credits to graduate and walk that line with my class of
A full team meeting at least once a week to update its progress will also be very helpful. Our team has improved a lot since Thanksgiving, and we have been able to catch up with our timeline. Another improvement that we can make is to challenge each other’s idea more. By questioning and having doubt about each other idea, one must come up with qualitative reasoning and will result in a more polished and finished idea. 4) Next week is our last lab.
