Art is something by which artists shows their intelligence. People also can know about others traditions, culture and people’s behavior by art. Once I visited MOMA PS1: which is one of the largest and oldest organizations in the USA, at 22-25 Jackson Ave, at 46th Ave, in LIC, Queens; one of the arts “Wael Shawky: Cabaret Crusades” caught my attentation. It is an amazing work of art. The artist was showing the history of crusades in Jerusalem by presenting puppet show. It also can be said that the puppet’s musk’s present the characters of crusades. By this show he also tried to bring back the old tradition.

One can create a portrait with different types of paint, chalk, pens and pencils, the lens of a camera. A musician can convey a feeling within lyrics, or notes of a song. Separate forms of art, yet if you look closely enough, you can see similarities as well.

For instance, the puppets which were displayed throughout the movie required the skill of numerous puppeteers. It was not as simple as operating a set of strings and sounding out voices; more complex characters such as Hoggle had many different performers trying to create one character. Shari Weiser was inside the costume and did all the body movement while Hoggle's face was radio-controlled by Brian Henson and three other operators. There was a lot of rehearsing done in order to match his expression with his voice. Ludo was another character that was struggled with and due to his massive size his costume was alternated between two people.

Jim Henson was one of the firsts to take full advantage of the framing of what was actually portrayed on the television screen. It all starts with an idea; someone has a spark of creativity and thinks of something like a sponge living in a pineapple underwater. That idea then gets drawn, animated ,and perhaps becomes one of the best cartoons known to man.
Children acting and dressing as if they are a character would allow them to truly feel as if they are that individual. For example, children act as students. During this they pretend they are interested in education and behave as such by respecting their teacher and completing their classwork to receive better grades. The child playing the teacher would also perform as if they are well-educated and also caring and responsible towards the students. Acting as a character allows children to understand and practice moral behavioral qualities, such as, respect and responsibility.

Wells points out that in animated shows, characters, object, environments, even sounds, are exaggerated. For an example, Wells points at the accepted 1930s Disney style of animation. Specifically, the “squash and stretch” animation which over-emphasizes movement, highlighting the way that a body anticipates/reacts to movement. Today, “squash and stretch” is the generally accepted way to animate bodies, therefore, serving as an excellent example of the exaggeration of reality that is seen in animation to create a greater impression of realism.
In his book Shadow of a Mouse: Performance, Belief, and World-Making in Animation, Donald Crafton investigates what “performance” in animation is. Brad Bird, known for The Incredibles (2004) and Ratatouille (2007), argues that “animated films are performances” because the “animated characters are actors who may convey strong emotions” and “the audience responds emotionally to the acting”. In result, the “emotions [that] originate with the animators” make them, the animators, “real” performers (16). Crafton agrees to an extent. The extent to which, animated films are “a conditional performance, the condition being that the film will be completed and projected to its viewers” (17).

This research was carried out not to only show awareness toward the society but also why people should take art seriously. Often times, we can see lots of people debating whether art is important or not. This happened because the lack of exposure and knowledge that has been taught to them. Art can help to shape the society and affect the society to broaden their view of perspective in life by referring on the artworks because each work of art can give different meanings to life.
