Ship Wrecks Reflection

This semester I have read a total of one book, a thrilling story set on the coast of medieval Japan, called Shipwrecks, by Akira Yoshimua. My reading goal for the semester was to read two books; I didn't quite meet the goal I set for myself. I started off the semester with a 1200+ page SAT Test Preparation book. I realized at about the turn of the first quarter that I could no longer go about trying to read it, it was terribly boring. Therefore, I began to read Shipwrecks and surprisingly easily got into it. I find it difficult for myself to get into a book, but I certainly enjoyed this read. This book wasn't very challenging for me at all, if anything it was on the easy side. I am very glad that I switched my book in the middle of the semester, if I hadn't I most likely would have missed out on this great story. This author has written a few other books that look pretty interesting, one in particular called “On Parole” that I might try to read for second semester. I certainly enjoyed the time we have in class to read, I benefit from it tremendously. Not only is it a time to just take a step back from the day and have a few minutes to relax, but also that is where I do most of my reading, because I don't read at home very often. Second semester I am going to come out strong and this time I will read two books. I could absolutely do it if I started reading at home more. Therefore, one of my goals for this upcoming semester is to start reading regularly at home. Also, I want to start being able to read faster, I am a fairly slow reader, I can read fast, but when I do that I am more likely to miss what I just read completely. All and all I think it was a pretty favorable semester for me in terms of
