Connection to society/reason to care: Penelope is a great person for society to care about. She is a loyal person, and she also remained loyal to the person she loved most. Society should follow in her footsteps because she never cheated on her husband even though they have been apart for so long. And that is a great example for other people because they should always be loyal to the person they love no matter how much they see each other, or how much bad stuff they have been through. Where I listen to Pastor Kara, sing, and read the Bible just about every Sunday. Rebecca was a puritan woman who practiced her religion widely and freely and was always seen with a Bible. She wasn't afraid to show off her religion and was proud of it. Being a Christian as well, I am proud to worship and display the what I believe is the truth. For example, when a girl one day questioned my religion in school and made fun of me for it, I stuck up for myself rather than let myself, my morals, and my God down.

She was loved by Jesus and espoused to him, but she had many enemies who treated her terribly. All her life she significantly suffered for the good of the Church. I greatly admire how St. Catherine never cared about what people thought of the way she lived. I appreciate her vigor in maintaining her faith and persuading others to follow Jesus. I find it particularly interesting how she traveled the world to spread the word of God and to help those in need.
