The meaning of educated youth is about the teenagers in the middle of 1950s to 1970s in China. Most of them are received junior to high school education, only a small number of them had university level which mean many of them are not really had a high education level. Also, there is one more feature of educated youth is that all of them are participate in the down to the countryside movement. In the 1950s in order to solve the population expansion problems in the cities the government try to encourage the school graduates to take part in geoponic production labor in the rural countryside aim to relieve the employment problems in the cities. He feel hopeless with his future and living without a target as a migrant worker. He complained that there is a big gap between cities and countrysides, the cities are rich and the countrysides are poor also it is the main reason why there is a great deal of population from countryside move to cities. Also most of the migrant workers has low education level because they quit from high school and they are not able to gain a great job and based on the system of the census register in China the migrant workers are not allowed to enjoy the city's social welfare as same as the people who born in cities even they get sick they are not able to use the medical welfare service in the cities. What is more, they need to go back to the countryside when they are retire and there is no support for their retired life. Also he claimed out that there is a big difference of education quality between rural and urban, the education quality of urban is much better than the rural so most of the high school students in rural would choose to quit and even they graduated from high school there are not enough job vacancy for them so they try to be migrant worker to find some others chances. However being a migrant worker didn't mean all the problems are fine because the citizen in the cities are not willing to admit the contributions of the migrant worker. In fact, many of them are discriminated and they have no idea to deal with the problem discrimination.
