4.1.1.2 The Royal Assent
The Royal Assent is an approval given by the Monarch to acknowledge the making of a Bill into an Act of Parliament. In United Kingdom, this practice has been done for centuries. Until the Royal Assent by Commission Act of 1541, the Assent was given by the monarch in person, however, after the Act was legalized, the Royal Assent may be given by the commissioner on the King or Queen behalf. It was known that the last monarch in United Kingdom that gave the Royal Assent in person is Queen Victoria in 1854.
Since the implementation of the Act of 1541, there is no Monarch that refused to give their assent to the Bill. The only exception in this case is in 1707 when Queen Anne refuse the Bill for settling the militia in Scotland due to the recommendation that the Parliament gave. Ever since then, no Monarch has refused the Bills and as the power of the Monarch was diminishing, the Royal Assent has become a formality. It is because although the Queen or King can refuse the Assent, they would not in order to prevent Parliamentary and public outrage.
All thing considered, after the European Union

First of all, every week, United Kingdom has to send £350 million to Brussel for their membership fee. Yet, the money was not spend well, billions are lost to fraud and waste. United Kingdom has always been one of the largest contributors to the EU budget, yet the country received less that it should be. Second, by voting leave, United Kingdom can create about 300,000 job opportunities through trade deals. The European Union has failed or yet to complete for a long time a trade deal with important countries, United States, Japan, ASEAN, India, and Mercosur. United Kingdom has no need for fear if they leave the Union because political leaders around the world have clearly state that they would strike a free trade agreement after United Kingdom leave the
Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? ( Henry 54)” Using the logical sense within his audience Henry asks them how long it will take before their enemy is upon them. This is a logical argument because they do not know what British parliament plans to do and with nothing being done about both their lack of representation and the additional taxes levied on them the only logical belief is to ask questions of the unknown which in this case is Britain.
My group, the Lects, is similar to the Third Estate in the Reign of Terror and the American army in the book, Night. First, we are similar to the Third Estate in the Reign of Terror because both groups are upstanders. The Perpetrator was treating us terribly, so we took action and began advocating for equal rights in society. In the Reign of Terror, the King was treating the citizens of France, especially the Third Estate, with no respect, did not regard starvation, and increased taxes, so the Third Estate started to protest for equal rights among all the estates. In this situation, the King can be categorized as the Perpetrator and the Third Estate can be categorized as the Upstander.
In the early 1200’s, King John of England spent most of his time trying to expand his territory. In doing so, he outstretched his expenses, and forced his people to keep trying to pay impeccably high taxes he imposed on them. After his many military failures, the kings’ nobles forced John to write a document stating his powers as King for his people. This could be a problem because King John could have threatened people who didn’t agree to his terms with their family’s’ lives, or their social status as nobles. Then as recipients of the letter, his people might not expect too much out of it because the king can change the document as easily as he can create it.
Rhetorical Analysis of George Whitfield’s “On Britain’s Mercies and Britain’s Duties” Great Awakening preacher George Whitefield, in his sermon “On Britain’s Mercies and Britain’s Duties” which was preached in 1746 at the New House in Philadelphia addresses the topic of God’s mercy and the duties the colonists owed to Him. Whitefield’s sermon occurred shortly after the British victory over the French in Nova Scotia. He supports this claim by using biblical references, conducting a series of rhetorical questions, and finally he appeals to the audience’s emotions by using figurative language. Whitefield’s purpose is to remind the Protestants that God was merciful to the British in the war by allowing them to win the war so now
The way the colonists reacted to the Stamp Acts is that they boycotted British goods. King George III reacted by repealing the Stamp Act and put the Declaratory Act in to that same day. The Declaratory Act is a law that stated that Parliament had the right to tax the colonies
Humans often live closed up in a box, where people are strongly self-centered and accepting others becomes a hard action for them to take. They never truly understand themselves, more so each other, and this causes conflict between various groups and classifications. One of the most well known conflicts caused by different beliefs in religion was the Reformation. As generation passed and different royalties were placed in throne, the country of England constantly alternates between Anglicanism and Catholicism. One of the monarchs of England was Queen Elizabeth I, who was a committed Anglican.
Addition to this, new government will also take back all the controversial laws imposed by the British government. It will remove all the trade restriction from the Americans. According to Thomas Paine, it was nonsensical for an island to rule a continent. Like other people, he also explained the citizens of the America that England only wants to increase their revenue and they have nothing to do with the welfare of the
Revenge: A Narrative and Scientific Perspective Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado” and Browning’s “My Last Duchess” both revolve around revenge. We are introduced to men who swear vengeance on other characters. Yet, the mindsets of these men are, in some aspects, very different. To truly comprehend a story, we have to understand why authors make their characters behave the way they do in addition to the message being presented. In the case of “The Cask of Amontillado” and “My Last Duchess,” why do both narrators believe murder is totally necessary?
The British parliament would have jurisdiction, in America, as it did in Britain; that meant that whatever laws were repealed or approved in Britain, would also be repealed or approved in America and other British colonies. British colonies were not necessarily against the Parliamentary superiority, in enforcing laws; however, they were disgruntled about the taxation policies. William Pitt received much recognition for his part in the repeal of the Stamp Act. Those in the colonies celebrated, after this turn of events.
2.1.1. Political The current UK Government has made business conducive for the retail sector (UK Trade and Investment, 2014). In addition, the UK government has relaxed tourist visa application laws for large consumer countries such as China, the benefits of which are explained below (Davidson, 2015). However, ongoing tensions in the Middle East and Russia, which have also been high spenders, might be a negative factor (Hardman, 2012).
Even though Great Britain is only an island when we are a country, we are not united when our fellow nation is more unified then we could ever be. In conclusion, Great Britain is such a strong nation that it would help to have them with us and hurt us if we

CHIVALRY IS DEAD IN MODERN MEN The term “chivalry” emerged around the 10th century A.D. in France, referring to the medieval institution of knighthood that developed between 1170 and 1220. The code of chivalry back then represented a combination of Christian and military ideas of morality. As time progressed, the real meaning of the word disappeared and was mated with the fancies of love that resulted in a new definition that stressed on social and moral values. Chivalry got romanticized.
Parliamentary sovereignty is a feature of Britain political system, it is a key principle of the U.K.’s uncodified constitution. Parliamentary sovereignty makes the Parliament the supreme legislative authority of Westminster which means Parliament has the right to make, amend and repeal laws. Overall, the courts cannot overrule the legislation unlike in other constitutions like the United states of America. No Parliament can pass laws that future Parliament cannot change. Although generally the U.K is often referred to having an unwritten constitution this is incorrect, in fact the UK has an uncodified constitution.
A constitutional monarchy has a monarch which acts as head of state in agreement with a written or unwritten
