As a person literally, and a little bit emotionally, addicted to makeup, I can’t not wear makeup every time I go out of the house. I have to have at least used one product on my face, whether it’s a brow pencil or concealer or mascara or lipstick. I rarely go out bare-faced, and that might sound bad for a few of you, but for me, it’s okay! Because makeup makes me feel confident and there is no shame in that. But putting on makeup every single time I leave the house can sometimes feel a bit tiring, especially if it’s just to do a few errands like grocery shopping or going to the bank. Side note, sometimes even when I just have to go to the supermarket, I still put on an almost-full face of makeup. I’m talking concealer, lipstick, brows, eye …show more content…
This is a godsend because it can be used for so much more than this. But for what we need now, just use this to hydrate your lips and to give them that healthy and glossy look because healthy lips have to look supple, not chapped; comb a bit onto your brows to keep your brow hairs in place; and smudge a bit on your lashes to emphasize them even more, making it look like you’re wearing mascara. 7) Smile! And last but not the least, the final trick to looking good without makeup. It is something we have all had since the beginning of time – smiling! A smile can go a long way for your day such as inviting good vibes, helping boost up your confidence, and making you look even more put together. Smiling is like the extra toppings on a banana split, you can do without it, but once you do get some of it, it makes the experience and taste of eating that mountain of ice cream even better. I love make up and I am not a mean person, so I hate that those two seem to always get stereotyped together. I know a lot of girls who don’t wear makeup because they feel it has such a strong negative connotation attached to it. Makeup is artistic; it’s a form of one’s freedom of expression. It is essentially beautiful, the kind of beauty that we are always striving for but never quite sure we’ll make it to. Since mean girls know they’re already pretty (according to jerks or girls that hate them), I don’t understand why they cake on just as much makeup as the girls they consider “ugly.”
Every little girl plays with her mothers makeup. I used to watch my mother and sisters do their makeup every morning, and I would sit in front of a mirror and try to imitate their actions. As soon as I could walk, I was getting into their makeup. This continued for years until I bought my own materials to gain more experience and expand my creativity. I would use my imagination that makeup brought, and I would test different designs on my friends and family.
This newfound accessibility meant that people from all walks of life could now experiment with new products, without any limitations based on their gender. According to Tichnor (2006), not only did this change the way individuals approached makeup application, but it also left profound cultural implications on society's perception of what constituted beauty. The use of cosmetics became less taboo and more accepted as a daily part of individual lives. Despite the overwhelming acceptance toward embracing makeup products, some critics still argued that wearing them was superficial and encouraged vanity among women. Nonetheless, many saw using cosmetics as an empowering act – a means for people to express themselves creatively while being confident in their appearance.
I have always enjoyed the art of cosmetology because it helps bring out people's features, makes them feel more confident, and there's always different looks for everyone. I remember when I would get my hair done, being so intrigued by the art that came from it. How changing the color of someone's hair can change there whole look, or how a simple haircut can bring out certain face features. When I first started doing hair and makeup, I was not very good, but the more I kept practicing the better I got. On the other hand I have always been pretty good with doing hair.
In order to keep peace, no one tries obtaining such luxuries. That’s why, for example, it came as a surprise to Winston to see Julia wearing makeup. “He had never before seen or imagined a woman of the Party with cosmetics on her face” (Orwell Chapter 4). Fitting in in a society such as the one they are living in requires women to not wear makeup basically. There is no individuality and that’s not okay.
Whenever I see a 12-year-old girl walking by wearing a full face of makeup, I think to myself why someone so young and fragile would feel the need to wear that much makeup on a daily bases. And then I think of my childhood. Growing up, I remember putting on makeup was something I loved to play with. Every morning, I would watch my mother change her appearance in minutes using makeup and I would think to myself, “I want to do that”. I’d grab the leopard print bag containing the “dress up” cosmetics from my mom’s drawers and excitedly cover my face with red eyeshadow and pink blush before filling in my eyebrows with a black eyeliner while thinking to myself that I would be doing this for many more years in order to look like my mom and be able to look pretty.
Your reaction would probably be negative since the concept of makeup is directed towards older women. This shows male power dominance by having girls feeling the need to impress the
