Viniyoga – Vini meaning adaptation, differentiation and appropriate application, hence this form lets you adapt to poses and postures as per your goal, needs and abilities. Instead of focusing on stretching to get strong and flexible, viniyoga uses the principles of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). PNF simply means warming up and contracting a muscle before stretching it. Gary Kraftsow, founder of the American Viniyoga Institute, says this decreases your chance of injury. It’s best for you if you like personalized and customized postures for you as Vini teachers create new postures of different students. Also Vini is crucial for back-aches and spine issues as it loosens the muscle and stabilizes your sacrum.

When I was younger, I aspired to climb every mountain in the country, run marathons through the greatest cities, and roll my yoga mat out in the greenest of gardens. Eight-year-old me rebelled against the stereotypes claiming, “deep breathing is specifically for hippies” and “handstands were a calling to be a flower child”. I itched to push away any judgement, any doubt in my abilities, and aspired to begin this journey of creating my own serenity. These yogis, runners, and adventurers became my role models; I sat in awe of their power to make the conscious choice to slow down in a world that rushes through life.

Aromatherapy is closely allied to Shiatsu, mainly because of the principals involved, which have a distinctive similarity.
Even though it is gentle yoga, it is still a work out. Most physicians want their fibromyalgia patients to work out roughly two times a week and walk every day. Walking puts a lot less stress on all the muscles and joints that are already aching because of the disease. A study was conducted where “Twelve people with physician-diagnosed fibromyalgia took place in twice weekly, 90-minute restorative yoga group classes and a 20-minute home practice on the non-class evenings.” (Protocol for a Feasibility Study of Restorative Yoga for Symptom Management in Fibromyalgia.)

Physical activity/exercise helps increase the chemical norepinephine which helps relieve stress. Exercise also helps increase endorphins in the brain which makes people feel happier and less

Mindfulness meditation has been described ‘as the awareness that comes from paying attention to the present moment experience in a purposeful and non-judgmental manner’ (Bishop et al., 2004 cited in Brown, Bravo, Roos, & Pearson, 2014 p. 1020). Pearson, Brown, Bravo and Witkiewitz (2015) suggest there are five important features of mindfulness when practising such as focussing one’s attention to the present and avoiding distractions, non-judgmentally experiencing thoughts, non-reactivity to thoughts, labelling experiences and simply observing thoughts/feelings. Integrated with the literature, this portfolio will contain description of my experience with mindfulness meditation technique resulted from guided exercises from Rob Nairn’s book ‘Diamond

Mindfulness & Power of our thoughts A strong impact is made on our health and overall well-being by what we think and feel, how we talk to ourselves, and what view we take about what is happening to us, and around us. Mindfulness, in its simplest form, means to be able to pay attention to the present moment, without judgment and criticism. To the things that actually “are”.
Yoga and meditation could play a big part in your life a lot of people don't get that advantage of taking the class that I got to take. I never thought it would be something I'm really into and I think it's good for you just in general I would have trouble waking up in the morning so I would sun salutations to become more attentive then at night I would focus on my deep meditation along with my heart centering to bring my energy back down. Overall I think yoga has changed my perspective on how to look at situations and how to handle them, I believe it can do anyone good in their life, it can build a positive bond with your conscience and other people.
