Helena also thought Demetrius was making fun of her. What the characters didn 't know was that the flower juice was put in their eyes. There were many times this happened in this play. This was the best part because Puck ended up fixing everything.
He asks Hamlet to stay at the kingdom so he can make sure he’s okay, but he really only wants to ensure he doesn’t find out the truth about his father. He does not care for Hamlet or the people, he only wants to ensure his plan stays
Do your parents know that you are with me?” The king questioned the boys. “I ran away. My parents thought that coming to see you was pointless so I left. And Rosco unintentionally got lost when he chased a rattlesnake,” Henry explained wide-eyed.
He is a child who created many stories, disguises and plans everything such as when he planned to escape from his drunken father because he cannot tolerate his father’s actions. At that time, he was locked up the hovel by his father. Then he decided to escape his father. He planned to escape by making the story seem to have been murdered to and left evidence and traces. The hoax makes everyone believe that he is dead.
Jack’s non-existent rules are a way for him and his tribe to pretend like they can hide behind a mask and take away the boys ability to function as members of a civil society. Towards the end of the story, the lack of laws take a toll on all the boys on the island: “The breaking of the conch and the deaths of Piggy and Simon lay over the island like vapor. These painted savages would go further and further” (236). The breaking of the conch and the loss of two boys are prime examples as to why a society cannot function without rules.
Helena thinks Demetrius is messing with her, and trying to make fun of her love towards him. This is an example of Dramatic Irony because the reader or audience knows that Demetrius loves Helena due to the love potion that is from Puck. Soon after this conversation there is another example of Irony and at this point Helena is being fought over between Lysander and Demetrius because of Puck's potion. Puck turns Bottom's head into that of a donkey because as a prank because he enjoys playing tricks on mortals and fairies. The transformation is funny because Bottom's name is synonymous with "ass" and also because Bottom's personality is stubborn and pushy.
Macbeth's motifs only concern his personal gain without caring for other people’s wellbeing, whereas Snape are in regards to the woman he loves and overall everyone else but him. Macbeth's eagerness to be king makes him commit brutal acts time after time because he states that he has only “scotch’d the snake, not kill’d it” (3.213).whereas Snape tricks Voldemort into thinking he is the master of the elder wand to save Harrys life, ultimately giving up his own life (1:08:00) Snape's motifs are not only better but make other
Oberon (Titania’s husband) has his loyal servant Puck drug Titania to fall in love with the next thing she sees when she wakes up. Oberon does this because Titania has a small boy she is charge of and Oberon is needy and wants the boy simply because Titania told him no. When Bottom starts singing, still unaware he has the head of an ass, he wakes up Titania who under the power of the drug, immediately falls in love with him. Bottom of course in his arrogant fashion, doesn’t question how this random stranger is now totally and inevitably in love with him. Titania is so head over heels in love with Bottom she becomes delirious.
He sent a lot of soldiers to fight for the land that didn’t even worth it. Thousands of people are sending to death for no reason. Also, Hamlet killed Polonius with direct action. “Nah, I know not, is it the King?” (Shakespeare 81)
He didn’t even bother to save Polonius when he stabbed him; he just let him die. When King Claudius find out, he didn’t even want to punish Hamlet for killing Polonius because he loves Hamlet’s mother and Hamlet is loved b y the people, punishing him will rise a rebellion against him. Despite the crime that was created by Hamlet, a prince with high social class, he didn’t received any punishment, it was covered up. Polonius didn’t receive any justice for his death. Hamlet was able to hide his crime because he has the power and the title.
"You truly think I should do this, it just doesn 't seem right, rude almost. Some girl like me, a nobody, playing around with some rich dude?" "I promise, Dollie, Gilden boys love that coy-playing games stuff. They never had anything not given to them so when somebody doesn 't just fall into they arms they go crazy. They love it." Delice chimed.
Along with the regionalistic narrators, both stories show regionalistic qualities in their themes. In “The Jumping Frog of Calaveras County,” the theme is cunning and cleverness. Jim Smiley shows he is cunning and clever by winning every bet he ever made. Although, after making a bet with a stranger in which he believes knows nothing about frogs, he bets him forty dollars that his frog can outjump any frog in Calaveras county, but he surprisingly doesn't win. After making the bet, the stranger claims he doesn't have a frog, so Simley leaves his frog and the forty dollars he bet behind with the stranger to go down to the swamp to fetch him a frog.
Simon Birch and William “Doodle” Armstrong changed the lives of many people. Both of the boys have many similarities, but also differ from each other as well. Even though, they died at a young age, they lived their life to the fullest. Simon and Doodle were born with birth defects, that affected their physical appearance.
