With the current election raging, illegal immigration has been the hot topic amongst both liberals and conservatives. Many conservatives believe that illegals steal jobs, abuse tax benefits, and, most importantly, threaten their way of life. Liberals, on the other hand, support immigration reform based purely on sympathy. They understand that many Latin Americans go through extreme measures to escape hopeless situations back home. While there’s nothing wrong with sympathy for our fellow humans, it may serve to be beneficial to look at immigration reform through the lens of reason.
America a place where people could feel safe and now that we are the most powerful nation we are able to feel safe. The only way to keep our safeness is to elect very strong Presidents. Some of the strong presidents might not be able to run because of the “natural born law”. This law does not allow immigrants who are now American citizens to run for president. Even though Immigrants have all of the other requirements to become president they are not allowed to run. Immigrants should be allowed to run for president because, the law was originally put in to protect the country from Dukes, this country was built off immigrants, and the founding fathers wanted this country to be equal and this statement of “natural born” is not equal.
The immigration system in this country is broken. The process to enter this country legally is too lengthy and difficult, which is forcing large numbers of people to enter the country by illegal means.
According to a study released last year by the Pew Hispanic Center, as of 2008, 11.9 million illegal immigrants lived in the United States, more than triple the 3.5 million who lived in the country in 1990 (Izumi). Immigration throughout the years has become a major issue in the U.S because of too many immigrants entering the country year after year. The U.S has come to a point whether they should deport the immigrants back to their country. Believe it or not, these immigrants are a big contribution to the U.S. If it wasn’t for them, the U.S economy wouldn’t be where it stands now. In recent discussions of whether immigrants should be deported, there has been sides where immigration would be good for our country and others disagree. Some believe that immigrants should be allowed to stay in our country, because they believe our economy wouldn’t be good without them and many businesses rely on immigrants working for them. On the other hand, the other side believe that immigrants are overpopulating the U.S and don’t have the money to support all of these immigrants (education/jobs.) Immigrants should be allowed to remain in the country because many families would be separated, they are already accustomed to the American society, and they contribute to the economy.
In one of Trump’s speeches he began it by comparing Mexican immigrants to “rapists” and “killers”. From there he tweeted about running candidate Jeb Bush’s wife about her began Mexican. One of his tweets says” #JebBush has to like the Mexican
Throughout this article the author, Marisa Abrajano, explains how immigration can potentially have an impact on American politics and how immigration can also change racial demographics. In my proposal I briefly mentioned how there have many historical figures who were immigrants who have impacted America as we know it, and by including information from this article, it could help support the idea that there could be more immigrants who can influence America. By explaining how allowing immigration to be fully legal for undocumented individuals,
There are a lot of controversial issues surrounding this country. Whitin all those controversial issues there 's the “issue” of illegal immigration. I 'm sure we 're all familiar with the term “illegal immigration”. We’re always told about how bad it is. Don 't get me wrong, it is bad but it 's not done with the intention of hurting someone else but to try and change their future. To get out of the violence, drug, and alcohol abuse where they come from.
In the passage from Staying Put: Making a Home in a Restless World, the author, Scott Sanders critically counters Salman Rushdie’s claim that migration is essential and effective. He also acts as a fair debater by explaining Rushdie's claims, though he uses a critical tone to emphasize that unlike Rushdie, he believes that staying put is better than migrating. Aside from using tone, as Sanders argues his perspective, he uses powerful diction to characterize certain ideas negatively or positively. Sanders also uses sophisticated language, including metaphors and personification, to support his points and give the readers a bigger sense of the negative effects of migration. Furthermore, by referring to historical examples, Sanders makes his argument more credible, therefore reinforcing his
One significant reason that undocumented immigrants should acquire a “path to citizenship” is that America is a country of immigrants, founded by immigrants. According to Senator Charles E. Schumer in Upfront Magazine, 2016 “I can see the statue of Liberty, which welcomed my ancestors so many years ago. That statue is a symbol of hope to the world. For it to remain so, we must keep fighting to pass immigration reform, including a solution for undocumented immigrants who are already here.” What Senator Schumer is saying is that America’s ancestors are immigrants, so why can’t we welcome the ones already here? It simply doesn’t make sense to not be open to legalize undocumented immigrants
Currently, the presidential elections are coming up, and there are two favorite candidates to for the presidential. Hillary Clinton (democratic party), has proposed some great proposals for a change in the United States. She proposed a new immigration reform, an education policy, and a new healthcare reform. On the opposing side is Donald Trump (republican party), he proposed his own immigration reform, education policy, and also a new healthcare reform. Both, Hillary and Trump propose some great, interesting ideas for the U.S. However, Hillary Clinton is a better presidential candidate than Donald Trump.
What makes someone American isn’t just blood or birth but allegiance to our founding principles and faith in the idea that anyone--from anywhere--can write the next chapter of our story, quoted from our current president, Barack Obama. It is said that America is a land of immigrants, but why are they not allowed into the U.S today? America loses opportunities to become a better place, because our immigration reform constantly turns down citizenship applications, from people who want to make a difference in America. If these applications continue to be turned down, families will be torn, the economy will be broken and futures will never become a reality.
I Ramiro Pineda Jr. am here to speak for all immigrants, about Immigrant Rights, and the equality of all races. I believe The United States of America should accept any immigrants because, they only come to the U.S. For a better life. They should be forced to go through the process of becoming citizens and learn English. If they so happen to not want to be here anymore due to the process they have to do, they can decide to go back. Also U.S. Should be proud to accept these people they come here for a better life, education, and good occupations. Also for better life for their children. They don 't want they 're children to have to go through everything they did, the hard life, working to have te money to pay the coyotes,
After reading many articles discussing the situation between Donald Trump and the 11 million immigrants in America and trying to understand both sides of this issue, I strongly believe Trump and his insane idea will not be successful.
Bernie Sanders believes that immigrants play a central role in the American economy and in American citizens’ everyday lives. However, he feels that undocumented workers are abused by some politicians for political gain and put in the dark. The only way to end this disgraceful situation and fix the enormous problem we face as a country, in Sanders opinion, is to end the division and become united. The Fair and Humane Immigration Policy will unite all peoples living in America, legal and illegal, consequently, binding the division in our country.
Immigration has always been a crucial topic in the United States government. Especially when it comes to giving amnesty and passing an immigration reform to 11 million immigrants, that live in the country. Many citizens believe that immigrants are detrimental to the well-being of the United States and do not agree with the passage of an immigration reform. One reason is that many believe immigrants take away the jobs of American citizens. Other reasons are that immigrants bring crime to the country and affect the economy.
